Summary:

can't delete comments I make to my own journal entries

Original Request:

When I try to delete or screen a comment I've made to my own journal entry, I get the following error:

Error while trying to delete comment: Bad input: URL doesn't match journal owner)

Originally I thought this was due to using a name change token a couple months ago, but it's happening in new entries as well.

Can this be resolved on my end, somehow?

Diagnostics: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 12105.100.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/75.0.3770.144 Safari/537.36

Addendum: have tried making changes to all journal settings that seem like they could be relevant. No change to the issue.

Addendum part 2: I also can't track threads. The error I get is "invalid auth token".

So sorry for the delay in getting a response to you. We've had several code updates that may have resolved this. Are you still experiencing this issue?

Unfortunately, yes. The best I can figure is somewhere in the code the journal is still flagged with my previous username? I've learned to work around it.

Thanks for getting back to us. One of our developers has figured out the issue and a fix should go into an up-coming code push. I'm not sure when it will happen, but keep an eye on https://dw_dev.dreamwidth.org for a code tour with the update.

In the meantime, if you turn off Javascript in your web browser, you'll be able to delete comments in your journal. It's a clunky work-around, but should be able to hold you over until the code update.
