Summary:
API documentation
Original Request:
Is there any documentation of the Dreamwidth API that isn't comically outdated or incomplete? The wiki documentation is a horrible mess, and a bunch of it doesn't apply. How challenge/response auth works, for example; you can get a challenge fine, but there's no documentation (which I can find) which talks about how the response hash is constructed.

And as for the REST API, which may or may not actually exist, forget about it. I'll pay for an account if good documentation can be found.
Hi there!
We are in a transition period (and have been for a while) between the inherited LJ API, which is what was originally documented on the wiki, and a new REST API, which is still a work in progress. It doesn't make sense for our few active volunteers to dedicate time to documenting an unfinished product.
If you will share some details of what exactly you are trying to do using our API, we can give you a better idea of what your current options are.
Best,
--Jen

Poo. Also bum and wee wee. Fair enough. Dreamwidth is Perl, right? I only ask because my Perl is awful but I have chops in other languages, and might be able to help out with docs or even dev if there's language crossover.
I'm also a devops nerd (ex-Facebook and Mozilla, for what that's worth) and might be able to offer help there.
I know volunteering wasn't exactly the original point of this post but it just struck me that maybe I can help.

I just realised I didn't actually ask a question. My question is whether my skills sound like they might be useful, and if so, how to get started with getting involved.
