Summary:
PSA: I found a somewhat viable workaround for the current style selection issue.
Original Request:
Go to https://www.dreamwidth.org/customize/advanced
This direct link is the only way you can access this section right now!

Select the community journal you want to apply the style to

If you want to change to an already existing style, choose it here: https://www.dreamwidth.org/customize/advanced/styles

If you want to make a new style based on one of the predefined DW ones, go here: https://www.dreamwidth.org/customize/advanced/layers
then scroll down to create layout-specific layer and choose the style you want. This way it gets manually installed. You can edit it then with the normal style editor, including CSS. You can still NOT change the titles, though.

Sorry for putting that here, I don't know where else to put it, but I hope this helps someone until this issue gets fixed <3

Hi there -

Thanks for this. Another user also figured out the following:

* go to the "Select Journal Style" page
* in the sidebar menu for styles, select 'All'
* find the page with the base style that you want (example: Mossy is on page 71)
* paste the following URL into your browser's address bar (don't hit <enter> yet because you need to change a couple things first): https://www.dreamwidth.org/customize/?cat=all&page=PAGENUMBER&authas=COMMUNITYNAME
* change PAGENUMBER to the page where you found the base style you want to use
* change the COMMUNITYNAME after the 'authas' to the name of the community you're wanting to update the style for
* hit <enter> to go to that page

The box on the right-hand side of the page should now display the community journal and it's current style.

From here, scroll to the base style that you want to select and click the 'Apply Theme' button beneath it. Now you can click 'customize theme' in the box on the right-hand side and continue as normal.

Which is maybe a few more steps, and seems to do about the same thing.

Grazie,
H2
