Summary:
Navstrip bug: style=mine setting half sticky?
Original Request:
Hiyas!

Okay, so: I have "Journal Pages: Shown to You" set to "original" because I generally like seeing other styles, and also because the nav strip has the "reload page in style" option that makes it easy to switch back to my style. I have reasons for doing it this way around (rather than manually enabling alternate styles).

There's a community I'm a member of that I like having open as a separate tab, and in that case I prefer my style, so I sit on ?style=mine. Which mostly works. But.

I first noticed that if I post to the community, and then click on "View your updated community", it doesn't remember the style=mine thing -- this isn't what I consider a bug per se -- but the navstrip seems to think I'm still viewing ?style=mine because it only gives options to reload in "light" and "original". To get back to viewing my style I have to either manually append ?style=mine or style-reload twice with the navstrip

In testing a few things (whether it persisted across different tabs, different communities/journals, refreshes, etc) I think a truer version is this: the style reload options given in the navstrip are based on *whichever style-reload option you last set with the navstrip*, not what you're currently seeing. (Except now I've tested myself into confusion ... I probably shouldn't be doing troubleshooting with a migraine!)

Anyway assuming I'm not imagining things, the easiest fix that springs to mind is to just have it always include mine/original all the time, but I don't know if there's reasons not to.

Hi there!

It sounds like we need to make sure that the style arguments are remembered in the links that you click on the "Success" page after posting? I can definitely put in a development request for that! Thanks for pointing it out.

Best,

I think the post-success-page link may be a red herring (sorry!) -- that was how I noticed the problem, but really the posting page isn't *fed* the style=mine info so it makes sense that it can't pass it back.

My dev skills are too rusty to remember how to codedive. How does the nav strip decide whether to offer 'original' or 'mine' as reload options?
