[Cyrillic] cyrillic character encoding screwed up all of a sudden

Hi -- I admit I'm not too technical. I have some posts in DW, most of them duplicated in LJ but not all... Anyway, here's the problem: I tried to edit some of my posts, i.e. introduce cuts (see more... see photo... etc.) DW editor does not give an easy GUI option for this, so I go to LJ, do a draft there, then copy the resulting code (HTML?) into DW and delete LJ draft. Seemed to work, BUT: 1) I couldn't do this with a longish text that was pre-formatted in MS WORD; and 2) When I was done and went back to my DW Inbox, all messages there encoded in Russian were screwed up! Like this: 8 октября 2021 - 30 лет со дня пересадкÐ
Would it be too much to ask for help?
