I can't customize after deleting a layer and I get an error.

Issue
This happens when you don't have a layout layer (style) defined and try to use the customization interface. The error you are seeing should say something like "Sorry, there was a problem" and not give any further information.

Workaround

• Go to the Advanced Customization area.
  
• Optional: Create a new style, select layers, etc. if you want a customized style.
  
• Click the "Use" button for one of the preloaded styles.
