About Us: Open Expression
At Dreamwidth Studios, we know that while we provide the platform, you provide the content. Our goal is to provide you with the environment you need to express yourself in the way you want.
Whether you're writing about your cat, writing a novel, or writing anything in between, we want you to be comfortable here.
We're committed to giving you the tools and options you need to use the site the way you want. We're also continuing to develop site features based on what you tell us you want rather than what we think you ought to want.
And that's only part of what we believe makes Dreamwidth special. We're committed to the ideals of free speech and diversity. You can read our Diversity Statement, but we think a part of it bears repeating here: be you atheist or Zoroastrian, author or zoologist, you and your opinions are welcome here.
We're bound to obey the law, and sometimes this will mean we'll need to remove certain content. We'll only do this when necessary, and we'll explain why whenever we do. But we won't place limits on your creativity based on what's deemed "normal" or "comfortable".
