"We sometimes encounter people, even perfect strangers, who begin to interest us at first sight, somehow suddenly, all at once."
☄ lights down low The lighting has dimmed in all the rooms and halls, the normally crisp air that is pumped from the vents low, and all machines and tech are running at half-speed. These effects can be found throughout the ship. Water in the showers remain hot for only a few minutes before reverting to cold. Recreational equipment powers off not long after it has been turned on. The sanitation and water filtration systems require an hourly manual reboot, and all unused areas of the ship have no power allotted to them until a crew member steps inside. Even then, most functions are not optimal. It’s as if the Moira has been transformed into a dark house with only a candle flickering on the window sill. ☄ reuse & recycle The Captain and First Mate are quick to establish that this is a new regime and go about making the ship and its crew more efficient in the wake of their change in course and the low power state of the ship itself. This means they will systematically inspect each occupied barracks room and leave notes for what needs to be disposed of or stowed away. Unlike before, this is no longer a pleasure cruise, and each member of the crew is a guest on board; they will not tolerate useless clutter. Anything seen as unnecessary will be either placed into storage in the Cargo Bay or disposed of through the airlock. This new need for efficiency also extends to the need to conserve resources until they reach their destination. The showers are set to an automatic timer to minimize water waste. Those few minutes of hot water are all a crew member is now given. Meals are smaller, bordering on ration sizes, and luxuries are done away with entirely in order to preserve supplies so that the ship can go longer before needing to dock at a planet. ☄ new jobs, same faces The Captain and his First Mate, as expressed in their addressing of the Moira, explain that work efficiency is a priority. Applications for a head of the following departments will be accepted for a short period: Navigation, the Tower, Medbay, Defense, the Hold, Sanitation, Ingress work, and the Galley/Mess Hall. (Here.) After reviewing what they receive, one head of department will be chosen and tasked with helping crew find positions relevant to those departments and their own skillsets. They will be allowed to retain any positions that they held before that aren’t ship-functional jobs, but they will have to be done in leisure time. In two weeks time, they’ll be accepting department position applications which will be approved, and all those that do not apply will be assigned in accordance with their initial work application. They will also choose three individuals to act as guards of Ploiatos to ensure that there is a rotation available at all times. Will you choose to follow this new decision and promote yourself into a position of responsibility? Or will you simply wait for a reassignment? |
Reinhardt | overwatch
[Someone huge has stepped from the Ingress. He could be another one of the Cybertronians, for how massive and metal he looks. Over seven feet tall, in his armor. Armor which glows in places, despite clear signs of having been in action minutes before.]
[He also carries a massive warhammer. One end of which bears the sculpted head of a lion. Mane and all.]
[He'll stick around for the explanation -- looking blearily around as if he expects foes to appear without warning, the hammer still hefted in his hands. The armor still rises and falls - like breathing. Like someone panting after heavy exertion. Occasionally the glowing visor will settle on someone else newly arrived, giving them a considering look before moving on.]
[Well. At least he doesn't seem aggressive. Only wary. The bearing of a soldier in unknown territory.]
[ MEDBAY ]
[Last he knew, he'd been finishing off the Dragons. It hadn't come easily. But it had come. He had won. Victory coming, as always, at a price. So of course, here he is. Gingerly stripping off his armor, to settle it gently in a pile at his feet.]
[This is clearly a human beneath it all. Albeit one who is nearly as large in stature as the armor he bears. He is also bleeding and bruised.]
[If anyone is here to assist, he will offer them a crooked, broad smile -- hair white and wild to match the beard. His voice booms, heavily accented and incredibly amused:]
Space, eh? How about that. [And a massive hand, knuckles scarred and cracked, offered forward.] I am Reinhardt.
[ MORO DECK ]
[One medical check later, armor carefully secured in a trunk -- a trunk with hover jets on it!! he'd said, excitedly -- the huge man is making his way toward his assigned room. All of this talk of change doesn't sound good. But there's no way to make a judgment call yet.]
[He's too new. And the first order of business is to make sure his armor is stowed safely. Hence, the need to locate his room.]
[So the nearest person might find themselves accosted.]
Hello! [Accosted with a grin, though.] I am looking for my room. Maybe you can tell me.

Arrival
Those times are over now, though, and Vengarl is just a fragment of his former self. All that remains is just a head in a helmet that's shaped like a beast.
One that Reinhardt is stepping fairly close to.]
...please be wary of where you step.
[It's humiliating that he needs to ask that of people - that he's so small that he's worried about being stepped on or tripped over. But it's already happened once today, and he really isn't looking to have it happen again.]
no subject
[What is new, however, is... the rest of this.]
[Is that a head.]
[Is this some weird omnic thing?]
... I will be sure to, my friend. Ah. [Please excuse the staring from behind the glowing visor.] Are you all right?

[The rest of the stranger barely makes him blink. In fact, it reminds him fondly of Genji, in a way. So his expression is as pleasant as ever.]

Thane had had no idea human beings came this big. This gentleman is by far the largest he's ever encountered. However, he seems cheerful and congenial despite his obvious injuries, which is a good indicator of his overall character, and Thane accepts the introduction and the handshake without hesitation.]
Space, indeed. [The number of humans vs non-humans he's encountered so far has been...interesting. The fact that most of the humans are also unused to or even in awe of space travel is also quite interesting.] My name is Thane.
no subject
[The handshake is a good way to get around that.]
I am Reinhardt. It is good to meet you, my friend. [Yeah that's right, Thane. He just met you and this is crazy, but you look awesome, so we're friends maybe.] Have you just arrived?

[ Moro Deck ]
Sure, you'd think having a whole ship to explore would give him something to do, but he's lazy, and he needs prompting. So for now, wandering this deck is good enough.
Especially when a large motherfucker comes up to him and greets him with a voice loud enough to make him jerk back. A little. Not that he'd admit it.]
Uh? Hey? Yeah, I don't know, I uh, I just got here? Is it on this deck, or what? [No one can say he didn't at least try.]

[He holds out a huge hand, the knuckles scarred and cracked. Expression slightly apologetic -- he didn't mean to startle this guy, after all.]

arrival!
He'd been fighting; that much was clear. His overexerted himself and fresh scuffs and dings are visible in the old armor, and he holds himself less rigid than usual. It's been years since she's properly seen him but she's glad all the same, a relieved little smile on her lips. ]
Reinhardt! Old friend, are you all right? Let me get a look at you.
[ Is she raising her hands up toward his face? You bet she is. ]
no subject
[He's rolling his shoulders to try and get some of the stiffness out of them from winging the hammer -- when -- he freezes, and turns abruptly. Despite the armor, his expression is surprised, but pleased.]
Angela--?
[Before he even gets the word out, she's reaching for his helmet, and it's like nothing's changed. He's pulling it off automatically. There's probably a black eye and a few cuts here and there underneath.]
What are you doing here?
(no subject)

I AM SO SORRY I JUST FOUND THIS AND ANOTHER TAG I LOST pulling ac together forgive me ;o;
Medbay
Medbays are, sadly, not strange to her anymore. She's comfortable checking out the armor while some piece of equipment measures her vitals, and when Reinhardt speaks up, it earns a lopsided grin. She'll even give him her best firm handshake, though the hero dwarfs her in size even without the armor.]
Jaina Solo. Nice to meet you!
I'm guessing this is your first time off-planet?

[Hold it.]
Look who it is! Jesse McCree! Ahaha!

She can't be expected to always be sitting around in a bed, and with there being so much excitement going on, Elena's gone out to explore. She doesn't care if she's dressed only in a thick terrycloth robe and fleece pants, she's got her IV pole rolling with her as she pokes out, too curious for her own good at all the commotion.
Now, Elena's no doctor. She leaves that work up to Adrien and the others who seem to have their hands full at the moment. She knows her basic CPR and First Aid, however. But as soon as the older, tall man speaks up (for a human anyway, this guy is huge!), she blinks at the extended hand and then finds herself looking far up at him, head tipped back. ]
Reinhardt. [ What the hell, his hand looks big enough to crush her head. That doesn't stop her, a friendly smile on her face after some hesitation, her smaller hand dwarfed completely in his as she accepts the handshake greeting. ] Elena Fisher. Call me Elena.
So, Reinhardt. Did you know you're bleeding? [ Says the woman with an IV stuck in the inside of her wrist, like this is just a casual, passing conversation. ] I could help you with that.
no subject
[But he grins back at her, a smile with a few too many teeth for a normal person.]
It is a pleasure, Elena. [And then he laughs, making a show of looking himself over.] Oh? You don't say.
[He's literally covered in minor injuries.] Did you know that you have a drip in your arm?

It is always more than a little odd to encounter a human of this stature. Not that Toriel herself can judge really, as a monster she's very much an outlier in the human centric ship. Her white fur, horns red eyes and goat like appearance always earn more than a glance from those newer to Moria.
His greeting earns a smile from the boss monster, concern rising to the surface at the bruises and cuts oozing blood. She doesn't work in the medbay, but she can heal with magic if need be.]
Ah, has- no one helped you yet, dear? I am Toriel, welcome aboard the Moria.

[But Reinhardt isn't one to insult friendliness. Or offers of assistance. His smile is genuine, as is the broad, loud laugh in answer.]
Not yet, no. But that is no worry! I have had worse. [He winks.] Thank you, my friend. It is exciting, isn't it? Being in space!

Though the child seems somewhat out of sorts, they aren't intimidated by his size--they are used to Asgore, after all.]
