[It's likely only a few people noticed, but about two weeks ago, Ayumu vanished completely from the village, along with all of his belongings. It's clear he went home, and that should have been the end of it.

But today.... Deep in Egypt... Deep in the depths of a pyramid is a treasure room with a fancy sarcophagus. It probably looks the same as most of the other pyramid treasure rooms, but this one is a bit different. If you get close enough, and make some noise.... it starts to shake. Like something is inside.

Any treasure hunters are welcome to investigate.

Later in the day, after that drama has unfolded and the sun has set enough for him to escape Egypt, Ayumu can be found wandering the rest of the village looking for his house. It's a pretty daunting prospect because there aren't any familiar landmarks anywhere. So, he can also be found trying to escape gangsters in Mobland or being chased by dire bears in the ice age (he really has no luck with animals.)]

[ .. Ah, this is difficult.. She knows that along with Kyon she figured out it's better to stay away from Ayumu (although she thinks it's for his sake since she sort of misunderstood..) but at the same time when she peers out of the house and sees him running around like that, it'd be rude to not help him, right? The fact she's in the middle of gangland is the reason she's been staying inside like this either way..

So after Ayumu runs past the house trying to escape gangsters for the umpteenth time, Madoka can't help but open the door a little, waving to try and grab his attention - as if she's telling him to hide in there. ]

[Madoka-chan, you're such a sweet girl....]

[But before he can think much more on that, or say anything to her, he hears the gangsters shouting around the corner.

He dives head-first through the door before they appear and see where he went...]

[ Well, that solves the hesitation problem. Not like Madoka will stop him by now either way, she just makes sure to shut the door behind him so the mobsters won't know that he went in here. It's just a normal house - although the look of it has changed to suit the surroundings. Madoka gives him a slightly sheepish smile - she's wondering she made the right decision here, but.. she did, right? If those gangsters would've caught him.. ]

Um.. h-hi, Ayumu-san.

Hi, Madoka-chan.....

[wait maybe he should get up off the floor before answering her]

You can stand up now, you know. .. A-ah, if you want, that is. [ She seems sort of awkward. ]

I hope you're doing okay though. I thought I'd help you with those scary people chasing you..

Thanks... [He sits up, rubbing his elbow where it got scraped against the ground. The skin is already healing so he's not really paying it any mind, though.]

Uh... This is Luceti, right? [Obviously, since she's here and recognized him. But moving on] So is this an experiment, or have things really changed while I was gone?

It's an experiment.. [ She didn't really realise Ayumu was gone, though - she might have noticed him not being around, but it could've been a mission or something, maybe.. ]

B-but.. you were gone, Ayumu-san? Where did you go, back home..?

Yeah, I was home. It's been... about a year, I guess?

[....wait.] You didn't even notice?

No.. ah, I'm sorry for that, I-I didn't mean to! [ she finally realises that's actually sort of awkward, huh.. at least she looks super apologetic. ] But it hasn't been a year here at all, I've spoken to you in less than a year ago!

If it hasn't been that long, it's fine... [even if it's weird, for him.] But how much less than a year?

.. Um.. the last time we spoke was about two months ago, I think.. b-but that doesn't mean you were gone for all that time, I'm sure!

I guess the only real way to know is to ask Sheena. ...Or Haruhi.

[actually, Haruhi is going to kill him (again), isn't she?]

I'm sorry.. I'd help you more if I could, Ayumu-san. [ but then again, didn't Kyon say that would be dangerous..? ]

What exactly is going on with this experiment, anyway?

Um, they said there's some sort of scavenger hunt.. so in the different parts of Luceti, there's different kinds of places now where you can find some things, I think.

.. Hehe, I haven't really tried it myself. It's way too dangerous for me.

If the rest of the village is just as messed up, you'd be better off staying here, Madoka-chan.

[.....he looks around the house some more.] What theme is this trying to be, anyway? Those guys outside looked like American mobsters.

I think it's something about gangs? [ Honestly, she hasn't dared to explore much for that exact same reason. Do not want to be chased by mobsters, okay. ]

You'd probably know more than me, since you just came from outside..

I don't even know... I woke up in a pyramid and then when I tried to go home, those guys started to chase me with tommy guns.

A-ah, you're okay though, right?

[ She reaches out, almost as if to touch him to see if he's okay-- but then she remembers the lolicon discussion and instead awkwardly retracts her hand. ]

Huh? Yeah, I'm fine. I heal fast, anyway.

[And as if to suddenly prove this, a bullet that the guys outside had managed to hit him with earlier pop out of his back as the wound finishes knitting up. It bounces and rolls across the floor.

whoops........]

[ ....

She whimpers. And after a moment, the whimper gets a little louder, turning into a near-shriek as she takes a step back. Sure, she knows why that bullet just pops out-- or she figures she knows, either way-- but seeing it is still pretty scary. ]

Y.. you mean like that?!

[That.... wasn't what he wanted to cause at all. Ayumu kind of flails a bit as he tries to figure out how to calm her down. (Also please don't look at his back, Madoka, it's got a big bloodstain still...)]

Y-yeah, but - it's fine! You don't need to worry... Uh, it wasn't bad to begin with either! I barely noticed!

[...this isn't working]

[ Well, at least she can't see that part yet.. don't show her, Ayumu.. ]

I.. i-it didn't hurt at all? B.. but that l-looked so painful, so.. i-it must've hurt even f.. for you, Ayumu-san..!
