[GP] Food for the soul
Carlos hated being back at the hotel. He had begun by trying to access the Nevernever but that had totally failed, then caught up with Buffy to go and visit both London and Edinburgh, for varying reasons, and the rest of the time he had headed to Spain - he may have been well travelled, but rarely got time to be a tourist - but his time relaxing and finding out about Spain had been unceremoniously cut short when he woke up and found himself back at the hotel. For a few moments he lay there, utterly fed up, and just feeling incredibly homesick.
That only lasted a few minutes; after that he was a man on a mission.
He hunted out Caroline, and had a long chat with her. Plans were set. Time to cook up a storm. They'd missed 4th July, this could serve as a belated celebration, as well as a 'things ain't all bad here' event. Posters went up throughout the hotel, giving notice of a cook out. Everyone was encouraged to attend. What could be bad about this?
Grills were set up outside to cook up as much meat as they could hold; non-meat options were there as well for variety; salads prepared... a vast array of food to try and cheer up anyone who needed it. Carlos took his place at the grills, brandishing tools, turning the meat over just at the right point.
All that was needed now was people to attend.

Miguel and Dante - Open
Dante had sat at Miguel's feet patiently while he talked to Carlos though it might have had more to do with the scraps of food that fell off plates than his friendship with Miguel. When his friend took his guitar to the tree, Dante sat for a minute but then got up and began wandering through the crowd hoping for more scraps to be dropped from plates.
[ooc: Catch Miguel by himself, Dante wandering or both of them together!]
Miguel & Curnen

He crinkled his nose, "they also had some uh metal music - I guess it would be called hard rock. I didn't like that." The electric guitar playing was amazing, but the type of music wasn't anything that he liked. It kind of hurt his ears.
Re: Miguel & Curnen
Re: Miguel & Curnen
He held up his hand and pointed to his finger, "he had a round thing on his hand that held the fretboard."

He meant save them from having to go from chord to chord.
Re: Miguel & Curnen
She pulled her guitar from its case, briefly checking that it was in tune. "So normally, left hand for forming chords, yeah? Where you place your fingers makes the chord you want. Now if I had a slide..." She waggled the finger she'd demonstrated earlier, though right now it had nothing on it. "The slide does that work. My other fingers are for muting strings I don't want sounding."
Re: Miguel & Curnen
He began to look excited. "That's what it was doing when he played it!"

Liz/Miguel
Re: Liz/Miguel
His eyes lit up, "but I did hear a lot of neat stuff when Lilith, Mack and I went to a music festival in Rome."
Re: Liz/Miguel
"I wrote lyrics, but I can't seem to put it to music yet." She smiled in agreement of how hard it was. "I bought a book on how to read and write music... If you'd like to read it sometime."
Re: Liz/Miguel
"Really? Thanks." Then he said a little shyly, "I've never read music before, just listened and copied it."
Re: Liz/Miguel
"Me too" She smiled wide. It was a bit of a joke because she had learned all she knew from Miguel and a little from Scanlan.
Liz scratched Dante happily.
Re: Liz/Miguel
Re: Liz/Miguel
"Only a little... it's a bit hard to figure out." She thought about asking Peter, but it was part of his life he had given up to be Spider-Man. She wasn't sure he wanted a reminder. "But I'm sure I will. I've been told music is sort of like math."
Re: Liz/Miguel
Re: Liz/Miguel
"I think you'll find it easy." She smiled to encourage him. "Maybe we can both help each other. I'm really good at math and you're really good at music."
Re: Liz/Miguel
He meant on paper because that was the only sheet music he'd seen but at that time he thought it was Ernesto's.
Re: Liz/Miguel
Her smiled widened. "I think that would be so nice! They'd really like it." That settled it for Liz. "We're both going to learn how to write the best songs ever and you can go home and surprise everyone."
