[GP] Food for the soul
Carlos hated being back at the hotel. He had begun by trying to access the Nevernever but that had totally failed, then caught up with Buffy to go and visit both London and Edinburgh, for varying reasons, and the rest of the time he had headed to Spain - he may have been well travelled, but rarely got time to be a tourist - but his time relaxing and finding out about Spain had been unceremoniously cut short when he woke up and found himself back at the hotel. For a few moments he lay there, utterly fed up, and just feeling incredibly homesick.
That only lasted a few minutes; after that he was a man on a mission.
He hunted out Caroline, and had a long chat with her. Plans were set. Time to cook up a storm. They'd missed 4th July, this could serve as a belated celebration, as well as a 'things ain't all bad here' event. Posters went up throughout the hotel, giving notice of a cook out. Everyone was encouraged to attend. What could be bad about this?
Grills were set up outside to cook up as much meat as they could hold; non-meat options were there as well for variety; salads prepared... a vast array of food to try and cheer up anyone who needed it. Carlos took his place at the grills, brandishing tools, turning the meat over just at the right point.
All that was needed now was people to attend.

Mack - OTA
After spending time with Lilith and Miguel in Europe, seeing the art museums and music festivals, Mack had been inspired to try to design his 'superhero' mask. Not that he thought he'd ever need one, but for his comic. That was his story and he was sticking to it. The sketchbook was flipped open to reveal a fire Kisune mask.

He stood up immediately went into the stance of his Papa Hector. "Ready?" Miguel waited until Mack had the phone up and then began to walk.

"I mean because of the way he walked."

Brad and Mack
"Hey," he said in greeting with a nod. "Cool mask."
Re: Brad and Mack
Re: Brad and Mack
He looked over the mask a second time.
"A superhero huh?" Brad said, thinking of Peter. "What's his name? Does he have like... Fox powers?"
Re: Brad and Mack
"His name's Tomohiro but he goes by Tom." Another similarity to Mack.
Re: Brad and Mack
"Why does he go by Tom? Tomohiro sounds pretty cool to me." He said idly, still looking at the mask. "I mean, not that Tom isn't cool either."
Brad's eyes pulled off the paper and to Mack.
"Are Kitsune's a real thing where you're from, or is it like, something you made up?" He asked.
Re: Brad and Mack
He glanced up at Brad and since it wasn't really a secret anymore at the Inn, Mack confessed. "Kitsunes are real in my world, but people think they're not. They are a Japanese myth, but it turns out it's based on something that's real. I didn't know that until this year though."
That's when he found out he was one.
Re: Brad and Mack
Brad could understand the desire to fit in. He struggled with that often at school. High school could be tough if you didn't have friends or know how to navigate it.
"Wow. Have you met one?" He asked, then paused. "Are they nice?"
Re: Brad and Mack
Re: Brad and Mack
Bradley's eyebrows lifted. If he hadn't met someone who was magical, and a few others like Peter, he would be more surprised. Mack is the first person he met who physically changed into something else.
"Wow." He said. "That's... well, a little weird, I admit, but also kind of cool. Why three tails? Is that a Kitsune thing?"
Re: Brad and Mack
"Kitsune's can have up to nine tails. When you first get your powers, that's at twelve in my world, you have one tail. Then when you master a new power or do something really brave you get a tail. I have three, because I learned how to do illusion magic, but not like Molly or Lilith, they are WAY more masters at it then me, but if someone pokes in my head, I can make them see something that isn't there."
Re: Brad and Mack
Brad listened and tried to wrap his head around what Mack just explained.
"Three tails sound like a big deal, then." He replied thoughtfully. "So, can you do stuff that's outside your head, or just inside? Are you talking like... psychic people?"
I don't really know what kind of people go poking into other people's heads...
