New Moon/Zahliya Event START!
!"INVITATION"
Everyone will get a recounting from Mizuki about his encounter with the creature in the woods, regardless of whether or not you had your own run in it with. He knows it was brought up before, but he just wants to make extra sure everyone is up to speed! He gives a general outline of information that he learned from Ydalir, the Trader. (And, yes, he calls her that to everyone.)
One, the creature's name is Zahliya, but has many overall titles. His full title seems to be "Zahliya, The Purifier, He Who is the First Sentinel, the Grove's Guardian". It's kind of a mouthful, but Mizuki seems adamant you do your best to remember it all.
Two, "Purifier" seems to imply his capability to ward off and, well, purify corruption from the forest. This is obviously going to be very useful to the Grove as a whole.
Three, the fog is apparently at its weakest during that of a new moon, hence the timing. Which is tonight, Mizuki happily reminds you!
Four... "Zahliya needs our help."
He doesn't seem to elaborate further on that last point. Feel free to ask him about it, or just go to your fellow neighbors and be like "hey, what the fuck is that cryptic twink on about???" Regardless of what you do with that information, Mizuki strongly encourages your to meet with everyone at the edge of the fog closest to the inn tonight.
!GATHERING
...And by "strongly encourages", it means he will drag your dumb ass to the meeting if you need an excuse to have them actually show up. Mizuki seems very adamant about this. Zahliya is their friend now! We don't leave friends behind.
Mizuki explains that it seems relatively simple, all things considered. Simple relative to other things within the Grove, anyway. They just all gotta... "wish" for Zahliya. Sort of like believing in fairies, or calling out one's name for them to appear. Sort of.
He's certainly not going to lead in this, however. He's just here to provide the information! If anything, he's more hopeful that someone else will take the reigns from him the moment all knowledge about this is out there.
!OOC
The OOC post about this event is here. I figured I should make the post about it initially, considering Mizuki dug for the lore about Zahliya, but considering he is not the leader-type, he will simply defer to the group from here. This is helpful for both chaos reasons and so everyone can more easily be involved. I also left the first prompt open for any pre-discussions about this you'd like to get out of the way, though if you would just like to read through Mizuki's discussion with the Trader and handwave knowing it, I'm totally fine with that, too. Mizuki wouldn't make any attempts to hide information from anyone, assuming they asked him the question first.
Recap of the Event so far! (Click to Expand!)
- The event begins with characters learning and talking about how to go about the information above. Caoimhe's brought a song. Natsuno brought knives. BB brought herself (unfortunately). Add brought... medical attention. All's well!
- Until it isn't, as when the moon is at its zenith, there's a horrifying roar and two mysterious sets of footprints within the fog. Using the goggles from the Shopkeeper, Add is able to find a twisted looking creature and a humanoid. It's decided that it's now or never to call out for their Guardian friend.
- And he does, in fact, appear! But he certainly doesn't seem to be doing so hot...
- ...but taking care of him might have to come second to the very angry monster beyond Felicity's barrier.
< Creature Summoning >
The first, beyond the fog, is a flash of those green lights that have been there since August, like lightning in a stormcloud. It momentarily lights up the grove, strobing brightly, before going quiet.
The second is that, through all of the wishes for the Guardian and food, apparently, those wishes seem to become tangible. There's a thin, reddish line emanating from the centre point of where all of you stand that gets clearer and clearer with each wish made, stretching out toward the fog like a rope. It seeps into the barrier, which further thins. Thins, and thins, yet remains clustered around the furious creature within.
The third is that finally, something reaches through the fog; a small hand grips the red thread and pulls, as if a wish is tangible. Slowly does the battered and bloody figure drag itself from the fog, blades in tow...]

Your Guardian, everybody.]

Mizuki carefully has a few of his tendrils twist around limbs and whatever else they're able to without touching anything that looks sensitive and yanking him away from the fog the best he can. He is immediately being gently placed by the healers when he's able. ]

But this ain't about the lingering threat! This is about a little creature with lacerations in the same spots where Add will likely note the inferno was broken apart — the right leg, right side of the torso, and the left shoulder.
The green slits in their face are also currently purging the fog out of their system, which comes out an ominous black. Don't worry about that.]

Thank you, Mizuki. I'll handle this from here. [He still has the glasses out, but it's tough to operate when you're staring into blinding lights, so. Off they go, after a couple quick comparisons.
Add touches the injuries with careful hands, checking for severity... everything looks kind of bad, so unless one spot looks Even Worse, it doesn't really matter where he sticks the needles. He holds a hand out for Dynamo, quickly loading one of his blue Cure vials into the device.]
The first dose should accelerate healing, and the second dose will be to alleviate negative effects... I'm not sure if Immunity will be effective on your condition, but it doesn't hurt to try. Now, hold still—
[as funny as it would be for Dynamo to just fail to puncture their stone skin, it is also a deadly weapon, so it's probably fine here. medicine: deployed]
no subject
No problem! [ He's so excited, despite the fact it doesn't fit the mood at all. He still knows the injuries could be horrible! He knows there's still abo-moose-tion threatening to attack. But, uh, far be it from Mizuki to suit the mood. ]
Do you need me here any longer or am I allowed to go eat??
no subject
There's a pained grunt when Add pokes him with a needle; it will take some effort to actually puncture his skin, because it's incredibly thick, but it will work after a bit. Some wounds are suspiciously pierced-with-antler-shaped, but don't worry about that.]
You're not going to be able to— [he sucks in a breath,] —fix the negative effects. Don't waste that on me.
[Twists his head around to look at Mizuki—]
Are you going to eat Moder?
no subject
Go ahead and "play" with our other new friend, kuku. I'll support from the rear once I've stabilized the patient.
[the patient is talking back tho. he turns again to smile back at Zahliya, chipper as always]
I'll be the judge of that. This is a formula I've developed in Elrios, so you wouldn't know about it's capabilities. [and he has a few spares if needed so in goes needle #2!!! you do not get a say in your treatment sorry]

Yes, you can judge with your fancy glasses, Doctor, whether or not the corruption in my system is dealt with by your medicine or by my own abilities.
[...but at least the wounds are closing.
While Add is busy playing PhD, though, to Mizuki:]
Yes, that is Moder. She's been in my hair for the last month. Angry about losing things she thinks are hers and all that.
[Yes he is talking loud enough for the angry moose to hear, yes Moder shrieks and continues to bonk its head into the barrier at this.]

How long have you been fighting...? ... You're safe now, though. Welcome home.

On and off since Nene came to the Grove.
[So uh
It's been a bit.]

( ... SO WHO'S GONNA TELL HIM ABOUT NENE- )
no subject
She's agitated. You might even say "murderous". [sarcasm is all he has he is Dying On The Ground (not really dying) (grouchy because needles)] I would have been able to hold my own against her for longer, were the forest not as corrupted as it is.
[The slits in his face are still expunging fog from his system. He's been in there for a long-ass time.]

( looks at felicity warping shadows. looks at irene.
yeah.
he's going to shoot a moose also. )
What do you need right now? ( while add's doing the medical attention! )

I'm sorry but I cannot abide that at this time, not while you're so injured and Add is tending to you. I know it's hard to sit on the sidelines but you've been fighting for a month- let us help.

You are all so stubborn! I am plenty capable!

He waits for a (relative) lull to address Zahilya.]
What can I do to help?
[He's not a fighter or a healer, but he doesn't want to just stand there and stare.]
no subject
Zahliya cranes his neck to look over at Natsuno. Big green eyes blink at him... he shouldn't have to do anything, but that's what happens when the Guardian is a bit battered.]
Are you particularly adept at dodging or providing distractions? Moder is focused, but if you're able to get her attention, the others may have a better chance at disarming her before she gores someone on her stupid antlers.
no subject
[Annoying bullets, exploding sun flares, not to mention his supremely annoying regeneration.]
I'm durable too. If she wants to gore someone, she might as well try me.
[He says in the most calm and businesslike tone, this kid is very normal and well adjusted - ]

Next time you can ask five year olds to fight that thing, then. But sure, no goring.
