OTA
So, needless to say, Ironhide isn't exactly thrilled at the prospect of attending another party. But he shows up, all the same. Someone has to keep an eye on Prime, Ratchet, Hot R--Rodimus, the others. If he doesn't, who will? It's hard to fall out of the bodyguard in his nature. Too hard.
And who knows? Maybe it'll come in handy somehow. Some way.
Ironhide isn't exactly partying, so much as he is weaving his way through party-goers. His expression is neutral, and there's the occasional smile for those he knows. But he's determined to stay distant. Vigilant.
No dying, this time.

It might be because if Tailgate was here his friend would have insisted on his presence.
He doubts Ironhide will think much of him being here - after all, even some of his fellow crewmates on the Lost Light still don't trust him - but he's another protective eye on the party all the same.

Who is that? Someone he should know? They didn't say hello. Or greet him by name. Maybe that meant thy didn't know who he was. Regardless, he offers up an awkward little wave to the purple bot.
"Some... party, right?"
Wow, Ironhide. What a smooth talker you are.
no subject
They'd never really met - though he'd given Galvatron a lift away from Ironhide once, back during that... Unfortunate period of his life.
That doesn't mean he's completely unaware of Ironhide, though. Cyclonus is caught up on much of the history he missed.
"Ironhide, isn't it?"
no subject
"I... yeah, but. If you know me, I'm sorry. I don't remember a whole lot."
Something told him he'd have to go through this conversation... often while he was here. Maybe he could ask Prowl or Optimus to make him a sign or pamphlet to hand out.

He's curious about Ironhide's apparent troubles with memory. Something that troubled him before his arrival or a consequence of his taking? Or a matter of chronological displacement relative to many of them?
He doesn't ask, however, taking another swig of his punch instead.
no subject
More than just kind of, really. It means he didn't have to worry about accidentally slipping up on some weird joke, or not getting a personal memory, or anything like that. He relaxes immediately, rolling his shoulders back.
"You don't look like you're havin' much of a good time."
no subject
Ironhide's demeanor didn't exactly scream 'having a great time'. More 'I suspect something might go wrong at any moment'.
no subject
He grimaces a bit, but it's short lived. The purple bot has a point. He's not here to socialize, is he?
"Guess I gotta work on my cover ups."
no subject
"You seem on guard."
no subject
"Eh, figure most bots are here to have a good time, not watch a big old lunk watch Prime's back." He smirks a little sadly, nodding. "I am. Hard habit to break."
no subject
"In my experience, when any of the crew of the Lost Light are involved, it's a good idea to remain on guard."
no subject
Whoops. Out of everything he's heard here, the explanation of Rodimus' little misadventure fun time never happened. It sounds like a prison ship or something, from that warning.
no subject
"The Lost Light is the ship Rodimus took to look for the Knights of Cybertron."
no subject
He shrugs. He's used to not being aware of things, by this point. He just tends to take it better than other bots.
"The... whats of Cybertron?"
Okay. He's used to most things.
no subject
You want to get educated in myth and religion, Ironhide?
no subject
Because that sounds like literally the worst idea ever.
no subject
The Dead Universe was only a legend, too, and he got stuck in it for millions of years.
no subject
Ironhide doesn't exactly roll his optics, but it's close. He almost does.
no subject
No seriously, as far as he's concerned 'it was Rodimus's idea' is a perfectly valid explanation for all manner of seemingly questionable (and actually questionable) choices.
no subject
See, to him, there really isn't a "Rodimus". Not yet. There's still Hot Rod. And Hot Rod never had a great sense of restraint. Or the most rational ideas.
no subject
Once Rodimus gets an idea into his head, he's not entirely sure there's any way to stop him from trying to do it, short of locking him up
