☄ [Video] :: Location - Hub ((Slightly backdated))
Has anyone seen Thundercracker? I've been seeing others that went down to the Core check in little by little, but I haven't heard from him yet. Actually, anyone that went down with us, if you could just say something here, that'd be great.
It doesn't hurt to get a headcount, right?
It doesn't hurt to get a headcount, right?
[Action]
Thus, here he was, knocking on the door to Ven's room. He probly could have used the link, but that seemed sort of dumb when they lived so near each other.]
Ven? It's Axel. Can I come in?
[Action]
-uh, y-yeah.
[ He'd been meaning to get in touch with his friend, but he wonders how the Nobody will react to what's happened. Ventus has still been bothered about the whole thing himself, although he has to wonder how bad others have been affected.]
[Action]
Still, if there was something that could make a Nobody feel genuinely surprised... this would probably be it. Axel relaxed somewhat after a moment and came the rest of the way in. How to comment on this...?]
That's... a new look for you, isn't it?
[Yep, smooth as ever.]
[Action]
....something like that. Not exactly my choice.
[The translucent tentacles that look like they could be made of shadows seem to shrug at that, the ones that had grabbed the boy's Link reluctantly letting go as he tugs it from them.]
[Action]
Eh, well... could be worse, I guess. I mean, the pillar could have taken my suggestion and turned you into a fluffy little moogle in a pink tutu. And while that would be funny as hell, at least for me, it'd be a way bigger problem than this.
[Of course, much worse things could have happened as well, but Axel's not about to bring those up, given that Ven seems worried already.]
And speaking of moogles... is it weird that I kinda want to touch one? I know I poked a moogle's pompom once and it wasn't too happy; got a minor Thunder spell right in the butt for my trouble.
[Action]
....pff. [Although Axel's insistence on the subject finally gets Ventus to crack a smile.] That's some weird fascination you have with moogles there.
Re: [Action]
Back when Megatron first wanted to attack the Pillar I tried to talk him out of it. And while doing that I had to come up with something really weird that the pillar could potentially do to us; that was the first thing that came to mind.
[Axel looks puzzled for a moment at Ven's comment until he realizes what he said and chuckles.]
Heh, no that came out wrong. I meant I kinda want to touch one of the tentacles, just to see what they feel like, you know? It's just that "Hey, can I touch your tentacle?" seems like a really awkward thing to ask. Not to mention coming off on the creepy side.
[But hey, his verbal misstep had gotten Ventus to smile, so it was worth a bit of awkwardness.]
[Action]
[The boy blinks.]
Oh! Heh, I guess it would have sounded kinda weird to ask- but then it's already weird just having them. They don't feel like much, but I'm not sure how to explain it, really. It's like...they're there, but...not?
[He pokes at one, watching as it recoils slightly.]
Latest reply ever, sorry... orz
Sounds like how Darkness feels, if you've ever touched it. Like really thick smoke, but too solid to actually be smoke. Half physical, half just energy, and all weird.
[He observes the tentacle as it recoils slightly.]
Least they seem harmless enough.
'sokay! <3
Kind of glad of that though.
<3
And yeah. If you're going to have something weird happen to you, you should probly consider yourself lucky that it turns out to be something harmless and weird. And hey, if they stick around, you'll be a lot better at multi-tasking, am I right?
[Axel's clearly mostly kidding about that last bit.]
no subject
...mmm, I guess so. [Although he gives Axel a flat look at the last, spoiled by a quirk in his lips.]
no subject
[Axel holds out a hand toward an empty part of the room, palm flat and vertical, causing an ominous looking portal of swirling darkness to appear.]
Not exactly the safest method of travel, but it makes getting around really easy, long as you've got a good idea where you want to end up. This one isn't connected to anywhere, though, so I wouldn't advise trying to go through it.
no subject
[He takes a step closer for a better look, although hesitating with Axel's disclaimer. The dark tentacles seem to reach curiously towards the swirling portal.]
So have you been able to use it here?
no subject
Kinda. It doesn't seem to be quite as reliable here as it was back home, so I haven't been using it as much, unless I need to get someplace really quickly. Something just feels... off about it, like static coming through in the background of a radio signal, except with magic, and I can't seem to target anywhere I haven't already been as a destination.
And of course, using it to get off world is right out. Already tried that, and it's a no-go.
no subject
I didn't think it would be easy to leave this world that way, though. The big guys that fly here don't seem to be able to get very far either, although they were working on a ship to try. I should ask how that's been going. It's been a while.
no subject
[Axel nods at the comment about asking after the ship.]
Sounds like a plan. Though, yeah, it seems like something or someone doesn't want to make it easy for us to leave this world.
no subject
[His expression darkens slightly, and Ventus nods to confirm that assumption.]
Yeah, and that something's name is Unicron.
no subject
That's what everybody tells me, yeah.
[Though there's something in his response that says he doesn't entirely buy it.]
no subject
...supposedly the Lambda is his doing, and the Badlands beyond. It's also why we're here, because he's been messing things up for the Firstforged.
no subject
I'm used to having something obvious to fight; Heartless, the Organization, some other random monster. Here? We've got a bunch of giant robot demi-gods telling us 'this is how things are'and we're expected to just accept that. Things seem to point that way, and all, but... you can't say they don't have something to gain by us being stuck here too.
I mean, when you get right down to it... we're kinda in the dark here. All we have is their word that they've got our best interests in mind. And that's... not quite enough for me, I guess.
[Axel shrugs. He really has no actual evidence to base his suspicions on... but he's still not inclined to blindly trust the First Forged.]
no subject
That's what makes it frustrating though...the threat has a name, but there's nothing direct that we can do about it. Whatever happens by Unicron's influence is as random as when others are brought here. The Glyphless months ago, and then lately, that Pillar...
That's enough for me to see that there's something bad out there, and if there's anything I can do to keep everyone safe and to help this world, then I will.
no subject
We've really got no choice but to stay in the First Forged's good books, though, I guess, so what we think is kind of a moot point. When you come right down to it, they're in control here, and we're just along for the ride.
[And that, likely is why he can't bring himself to trust them. He's been on both sides of too many betrayals to trust anyone who holds that kind of power over another not to abuse it when it suits their purposes.]
But yeah. I'm not exactly the heroic type, but even I can tell that this 'Unicron' is bad news. And given that we're stuck here, it's in our best interests to protect the place, if we can.
[Axel shrugs. Whether the reasons are altruistic or pragmatic, it amounts to the same thing, in the end.]
no subject
[Still, Axel's following words give him a little relief to know that they're generally on the same page. Ventus nods.]
no subject
And you really gotta wonder about a couple of 'em, ya know? Like that Liege Maximo guy. I mean, I'm all for not judging a book by it's cover and all that, but seriously, the guy just comes off as creepy. That, and he's named Liege Maximo which sounds like a comic book super villain, or something.
