Greetings. [Jetfire probably looks a bit too serious for the topic this is going to be revealed to be about, but he's simply like that.]
After I promised someone who's not... er, as big as some of us a way to get around more easily, it was clear more of you would need the same. Since unless you've found something in the Junk Pile or can always trust to quickly have a nearby cybertronian offer or ask them, which might not always be possible in an emergency.
So, this is hopefully a workable solution... [Jetfire briefly partly turns away from the feed, and when he turns back he angles the arm he has the computer screen on that's recording to show a... well, it reminds of a disc. Maybe an upside-down frisbee, with an added, low railing and what's clearly seating.]
They hover, and you control direction by leaning where you want to go... it is recommended you sit down while riding one of these. Speed I've managed to add as a manual control toggle.
[It was, however, easier to make the control motion sensitive, even if that might make them slightly harder to control for the humans and/or other smaller organics that would need them.
He carefully puts the little disc back on the table beside him as he turns back to the feed.]
I only have seven of these for now, but I'm working on more, so ideally every temple that has at least an organic will get one first, then the Hub ought to have one, and then I can start giving them out to any who wants or needs one.
Locked to Four
I apologise for the time this took, but yours was tinier than the others, so they were all finished more or less at the same time.
[This time the little hover frisbee-like disc he presents have a little extra "frisbee" attached behind, much larger than the front one as well as two claw arms, one obviously meant to pick up anything that couldn't be made, or wasn't, magnetic, and the other one to pick up what the claw couldn't.]
I had to compromise between the size that would most fit you and how large the... ah, attachments could be and still make it reasonably easy to control. I hope it works.
Locked to Starscream
[Excuse him as he stares into the feed for a moment, then glances awayno, he's not squirming and back, shaking his helm.]
Starscream... I need to talk to you. In person.

Starscream... I need to talk to you. In person.
If not, I'd be interested in investing in one. But... I'm not sure what you'll accept in payment, since I sort of landed here without any money on me, and it'd be Earth currency, so... Doubt you'd want that.
Hello, Martha. I'm Jetfire.
They hover, yes. It takes the least engine space and allows for obstacles to be more easily scaled... and makes it easier to deal with them if they get stuck anywhere, and very few moving parts for anyone to get caught in.
[Talking of planes, there should probably be enough plane-like parts visible Jetfire looks suspiciously like he can fly...]
And I'm not selling these. [Another brief helm shake, his optics flickering brighter and paler blue for a moment at that.] That would firstly be rather useless considering we don't have much of functioning society at the moment. Even if we did, asking much to let anyone unable to transform and who is small enough it'd take unreasonable amount of time to get around would be rather crude.
But it will take time to make more, so these seven will have to be shared for the moment, one for each temple.
[Martha just sighs] Well, great! To hear that you're making more. I would honestly like to examine one when you start releasing them. I can imagine it'd make things easier for myself and others of my species and or stature.
[Excepting some wilderness or mines and other similar places to get raw materials, of course.]
Well, if anything, I wouldn't say no if you wished to be present when I build one of these. That was also the reason why; if we had normal production going, creating vehicles for any one of you wouldn't be an issue. At the moment, however, we have to rely on what can be found... or built by hand, so while outright vehicle engineering isn't something I usually do, it seemed like it would be necessary to at least add a few more reasonably easy to use vehicles for you and others.
[Martha knits her brows] So, there are no factories here? No equipment you could repair and use to mass produce these crafts? [sigh] Go figure. I would love to watch you build another, but I'm afraid I wouldn't be very much help in its construction. [her smile goes lopsided] Sorry.
And no, not yet. I have no doubt that there will be in the end, since this is just another version of my own reality's Cybertron and while building a conclusion of the end result from what I know, considering that they are, in a way, the same planet, I don't find it a completely unreasonable assumption.
Re: [video]
I just hope it won't take too long. Not only for Cybertronian needs, but other species as well. Kinda reminds me of the Revolution period.
... Er, another major historical event on Earth. But definitely a shiny one.
Well, as for the time it will take... Who knows. In my own universe, recorded events doesn't go far enough into the past to note the first around... I'm quite sure we're lacking quite a lot of knowledgem in fact...
[Frowning, briefly distracted, Jetfire shook his helm.]
Given the presence of what presumably are among the first of our species on this version of Cybertron, and those who, going by legend were supposedly made directly by Primus himself, none of us should be here... er. Not that none of us should be here either way, but the fact is, given the presence of the Original Thirteen here, Cybertron's regular population won't be starting to appear yet...
Which is partly why the planet is in this state, and given that I have nothing to compare with, it could be tens of vorns, or just days until more basic development start forming. It could, technically, even have formed already... elsewhere on the planet and not close to our present location.
So, technically, we came just before God could get to planting flora in the Garden of Eden. [smirks] I feel like a prehistoric caveman, now. Instead of crawling out of the water to evolve, I just... fell through a wormhole. [She doesn't realize she's probably confusing the Hell out of Jetfire.]
I've been told about the junkpile, the Badlands, and general surrounding areas, but... This is a planet. It must be huge. Yet there have been no expeditions? No research parties to scout and map the unknown territories? Or... I assume no one made it very far...
[Shaking his helm at the rest, Jetfire's clearly confused.]
Er... Cultural narrative, I presume?
And yes, if this planet is anything in size to the one I know, it would be of a reasonable size [If Starscream was here, he could've given her the comparison of "as large as Saturn, but alas.], but the Badlands seem to have a badly defined border, and we've so far been careful in travelling too far...
I admit I'd like to make a longer expedition, but given our small population I've kept to investigating relatively close to the Haven and comparing changes.
[Relatively near would still be hundreds of miles away; he's fast and he's a flier.]
Good idea. I wonder what the extent of the Badlands are? It reminds me, a little, all this talk on dirty politics and strange, new worlds, of a movie. I'm sure you know what a movie is, so...
About a man who was trapped in a surreal world he thought was reality, when in truth, those he knew and loved were all actors, and he was part of an experimental show. Where people grew up watching his life unfold, without him even knowing he was being fooled and led a life broadcast for all to see.
The point is - he had been raised to believe the ocean was a dangerous place, where a loved one had died, and so he feared the sea. In the end, he found the ocean was in fact very small, and led to the edges of his "universe". He'd been set up to fear the ocean so he would not explore and thus, find the truth.
[sigh] Sorry about the rambling, but... I wonder if the Badlands do have limits. If there's something beyond them we are not meant to know of. And if those who wandered into those ominous lands found the truth. If the truth was not meant to be found, then perhaps it was not the Badlands that swallowed them whole.
[Martha chuckles] Just an interesting thought I had. Figured I'd share. Bit morbid, though... Sorry. [oops, socially awkward]
[Literally.]
Ah... That sounds... like a possible theory, though we have had at least one individual disappear into the badlands and come back, worse for wear and not remembering, so it does have some documented negative effects.
[Jetfire frowns, crossin his arms as he thinks it over.]
And I am pretty sure that it does have limits, yes, otherwise the Firstforged would probably be even more... ah... displeased by its presence than they already are. The issue for us is merely the uncertainty where and how it begins, how large an area it actually stretches over, and its greater area of effect.
Whether or not it's Unicron who's responsible for this, it's clear it's troublesome enough... [Briefly, Jetfire trails off, frown deepening.] Which I'm not sure it is, but I've learned to be careful about disregarding a less than obviously scientific or logical origin for events
[video]
[Martha shakes her head and laughs] I guess, right now, I'd just like to find a decent place to bathe.
... A bath? Well, hmm. I know someone found several cybertronian-type washracks in some buildings in three different quadrants... Until a proper place to clean yourself could be made, perhaps you might start looking in any buildings sized for shorter species like yourself?
There's also the lake in Alpha Trion's quadrant, though I suppose that's not ideal?
At least the lake may provide the water I'll need for drinking. I'm assuming it's safe for humans to consume? I could run a test, but I don't have the tools on me needed to check pH levels and the like. But, since you're a scientist who appears to have been here a while, maybe you'd know?
If you want, I could always check the composition of the lake, but given the number of humans that have been here and undoubtedly used it since they arrived, I would guess it's safe.
[Then he chuckles and folds his arms over his chestplates.]
High-pressure air works for basic maintenance for example. More deeper methods would include cleaning solutions, usually liquid, which are then rubbed in and off and evaporated in heat, for example.
Immersing ourselves in enough energon to cover our frames is also good for us, not just as a cleaning method, but a simple way of providing our frames what they might need in another way than merely drinking it as the energon that way usually is used as pure fuel.
In my reality, we could also refuel by doing that, but given the amount some of us would need, it quickly dropped out of favour as energon-levels dropped.

[He's just going to cross his arms and frown at you. Bad Starscream, bad.]
no subject
no subject
[He'll just... give you a tilted helm and an arch stare. How are you even going to get around him having told her that, hmm.]
Are you always this... impish?
