[Hi there people of Verdana. There is a man with a dog, both trying to look especially harmless. In fact the dog's main purpose on the screen is to reassure everyone that Atticus really is nothing to worry about.]

Well this has been barrels of fun, huh? [He can't hide the slightly sheepish look, he's trying really hard to though. Publicly taking the blame for the whole... altered time reality thing isn't something he's really looking to do but he's gotta know how much of this is him and how much is... anyone else.

Just out of curiosity did... anyone [And there's just enough emphasis on it that someone remarkably perceptive might catch the quiet anyone else that is faintly implied by his tone.] do anything in particular that might have caused any of... well... time shenanigans? Not the traveling bit but the arriving part of the deal.

Hey, I know you're probably busy with all the changes but can Oberon hang out with you for a couple days? I guess the lakes are still intact but I've gotta see it for myself.

((OOC: Fari warning! Genesis might be threadjacking periodically as she is staying with Atticus now and likely hovering nearby laughing at him.))

[So she's actually with Atticus but wisely out of shot. For now. Instead, she's just close enough that she could reach over and pet Oberon but doesn't just yet.

Instead, she's shaking lightly as she struggles not to laugh out loud. This is actually a very serious matter but it's fairly obvious the major time change was Atticus' fault. He did, after all, go after the domes.]

[Obvious to her maybe, and a couple others perhaps, but overall no one needed to know that he was the one responsible for all of this. He set his phone face down on his lap and turned his attention to her. (Okay okay it’s not exactly a phone, he knows that but it’s close enough, geez)

For a moment he tries to look annoyed and then he gives up, laughing softly.]

You could at least try to take this seriously. [An eyeroll] Just don’t let anyone hear you cracking up in the background. If you need to go have a gigglefit do it in the other room.

[She waved her hands, shaking her head.]

No! No, I am taking it seriously! I just-

[She stopped to laugh a little more.]

Come on, you're trying so hard to deflect the blame. Just own up to it. I know the Plague is hardly a better alternative but Poseidon is a bit better to live in than the Old City, you have to admit.

Oh for the people that know I have the ability I have no problem owning up to it. I just don't want everyone knowing that I could do it. Aside from you, Belle, and a couple spirits and magic users the rest of these people think I'm a book dealer and herbalist.

I'd like to keep it that way. [He shrugs a little. Yeah it's paranoid but paranoia has kept him alive for a long time now.]

It's best to be underestimated, y'know? Besides... someone else might have helped things along, you don't know!

[She tilts her had with a smile.]

I understand, I really do. You just reminded me of a friend when he looks like he's been caught with his hand in the cookie jar. It's too funny. But really, I'll try to keep the laughing to myself.

[She nods in understanding]

Yes, I know. Except for me, I generally am underestimated. But I've worked it to my advantage anyway. And I'm pretty sure you're not the only one at fault here. You just did the most damage.

[He rolled his eyes at that, giving Oberon a slightly incredulous look and the hound cocked his head in return.]

You call this damage? I think things are pretty improved, thank you very much.

[Genesis just gave him a deadpan look.]

I didn't mean literal damage. I meant that you incurred most of the changes.

[He laughs a little, shrugging it off.]

Well then guilty as charged. I just don't see how it's a bad thing. I mean... this is a lot better than how things were before.

Then why do you look like you're in trouble?

There are others who might not agree if they knew. I know for a fact Belle's still pissed at me.

Ah. Yes, I can see how that would happen. But keeping it a secret will only make things worse. I say keep it a secret from the other Authorities, I think, but the others deserve to know.

Keeping secrets is part of the job description. If someone figures it out on their own I won't lie, if they know what I am I won't try to play dumb... but that doesn't mean I need to go around advertising it. I've lived too long to die on this planet for not being careful enough with sensitive information.

[She considered this before nodding.]

Fair enough. I suppose causing any distress, whether the people are from the Ship or not, isn't really wise. I'd certainly rather not make very many enemies myself just by blurting secrets.

Exactly. [He shrugs a little.] I've got enough enemies in the world, I don't need to add interplanetary ones to the list.

Well. [She made a small grin.] I would think that would depend if they can travel through space too and even find Earth. After all, if you made enemies of those on Gaia, you wouldn't have to worry.

We don't have the tech for space travel yet. ShinRa tried but then closed the project after a mishap. Not sure if they'll ever try again.
