[Video] | Tuesday afternoon

[Hey, look who's found his way onto the network again! Finally! Thor is smiling cheerily, and maybe a little bit like he's going stir-crazy, at the camera on his phone. He's also not in his armor, but a rather nice blue tunic with some gold embellishments. Somebody did some shopping while across the ocean.]

At last, we are again in range! Hello, my friends in the Old City! It is Thor Odinson, and we are on our return trip. Apparently we will be arriving at the end of the week, but we are not to speak of that until we strike land again.

[And Thor, while a bit of an airhead, is still trying to abide by the rules.]

Have we missed anything of import? Is everyone still well? Please, regale me!

[And keep him from being bored. Please.]

[Hi Thor, have a very suspicious Druid.]

You certainly seem to be in high spirits, friend. I have hope this means your company has met with success but I will not ask you to break your word and speak of that. [He does his best to mimic Thor's own manner of speech which is not entirely unlike the modern interpretation of Shakespearean language. It's a trick he adopted a long time ago. If you want someone to be at ease with you, talk like them. It makes it less jarring for them, makes you seem familiar when you're not.

He really hopes it works.]

Forgive me, though, I am new to the Old City here and have not had the pleasure of meeting you ere this voyage began. Tell me truly. You are Thor the Thunderer? He of the great hall Bilskirnir in Asgard?

Of Midgard and I have, indeed.

[This pleasant man doesn't look like the Thor they slew in Asgard though, similar certainly, but not the same. And the fact that he is so pleasant is rather jarring.]

I admit I am somewhat surprised to find you here of all places though. Are you unable to return to your plane or are you here by choice?

[Asshat or no if this place is so cut off that even a god cannot get back to their plane then he has even more reason to be worried.]

The bifrost destroyed? [He can't help sounding shocked at that. How had that happened? He'd been in Asgard just a few weeks ago and it had been fine. He'd expect them to board up Ratatosk's burrows but the bifrost?

The rest of it has his heart in his throat though.]

Loki? [Loki's freedom is what will start Ragnarok when the time comes (and Atticus has every reason to think that time will be 13 years from now) but... could he already be free?] Gods Below! He has already escaped his bonds?

[He is silent for a long moment. Loki brought war to midgard already? And how was this Thor responsible for Loki's capture? Thor was supposed to be the one to fight Jormungandr, not Loki. Loki was to meet Heimdall (who was also dead).

Why had he ever let Leif convince him to take him to Asgard?]

What year are you from that Ragnarok has already begun? Or is Loki's capture a sign that Ragnarok has been prevented? I somehow do not think Hel would take Loki's captivity in her stride.

[He would just have to hope that was the case.]

[There's a long moment of silence after that, one that might even be long enough for Thor to wonder if he's lost the connection again. Atticus is thinking, thinking hard, trying to reconcile what he knows with what this Thor is saying and he finally comes to the conclusion that this must be what Toshiko meant. Similar enough over all but vastly different when you get down to the finer details.]

Our planes must be vastly different then, Thor Odinson. Where I am from the Eddur say that the very first phase of Ragnarok is that Loki's monstrous daughter will come forth from her realm of Hel and free him from the serpent and Sigyn dutiful watch. He is the one to lead Hel's army of the dead and his freedom is what starts most of the events of the world's end. His freedom, as you can imagine then, is something that concerns me greatly.

No children? [He can get around all the rest of it but... what!?]

What the Hel happens in your Ragnarok tales if Loki's children are not involved, never mind the trickster himself?

[No way, Thor, you're the crazy one here.]

Loki has no- [It takes a special kind of talent to get a man that is 2100 years old and has seen just about everything the planes can offer to splutter in disbelief.

But you just managed it, Thor. Be proud of this moment.]

Gods below, how can you say that? Loki leads the army of the dead! It's his children that bring about so much of the destruction. You, yourself, are fated to fall to Jormungandr! Fenris eats Odin! And Hel is the one who builds the army Loki leads.

[Okay talking about this might just have Atticus a little freaked out, the reminders of how much destruction is coming their way, especially knowing exactly when it's going to happen and that all the gods who were fated to slay the monsters that would rise up to destroy the world were dead, many by his own hand, was even more unsettling.]

[Very very different planes and his head is starting to hurt from just how many different versions of things he knows there seem to be. It was one thing to travel between Earth and Tir na nOg and Asgard and Third World but... To have so many different Earths? This was just bizarre.]

Okay I've gotta know who Hel, Jormungandr, and Fenris belong to in your world if not Loki. And you say Sigyn is not his wife, nor is Angrboda? So let me guess... you don't know who Nari and Vali are either?

[He has a careless moment of frustration to throw caution aside and the next thing he says is in Old Norse.]

Do you even recognize the language of your people?

[Not trying to be rude, Thor, just trying to figure out what you do and don't know. He'll get back to that bit about aliens in New York in a minute, Bones mentioned that in conjunction with some guy named Stark but... he's still caught up on this mythology thing for now.]

[He’s not angry so much as just weirded out and having a little trouble wrapping his head around all of this. But he’s getting there and the more they talk the more bizarre Thor’s world sounds. This just keeps getting weirder. He’s trying though, really he is. Sorry Thor this is just incredibly distressing. But maybe this means you guys won’t be quiet so angry with him? Or maybe Loki won’t be quite so terrifyingly bad news.]

Right so all the mythology I know is just… out the window. Got it. And I know Asgard is another plane bu- wait did you say planet? Wha-

[ Nope. Not going there.

Topic change before his brain breaks anymore. Yup.]

So you know Tony Stark?

[Hey he goes to Comic Con for the SyFy actors and Joss Whedon not for actual comic things, he knows of that Thor but he doesn't actually know his history or anything!

Deforestation!?

Keep digging, Thor. Just keep digging.]

Nope but someone else mentioned him. I'm from the same time period but.. New York is still in one piece as far as I know.

[A pause. He shouldn't say anything, he really shouldn't... but the Druid can't stop himself. Why do you say these things, Thor?]

Deforestation?

[Not much damage and quite a few trees really isn't as bad as he was expecting. Knowing Thor (or the Thor v1.0 at least) he was expecting miles of forest to have been demolish or burnt to the ground due to some heartless prank or perhaps a moment of spite.]

Power blasts? Just who the Hel is this Stark guy?

[Look, he's even managed not to ask more about Loki! That's impressive for him.]

So... you guys are all... some kind of super heroes?

[Oh boy.]

Not odd... it's a Midgard thing.

[Which meant Thor didn't really know what he was agreeing to. But anyone that has a title like "Iron Man" had to be either a super hero or some kind of rockstar... or maybe a pro-wrestler?]
