Meet and Mingle! OPEN
Characters: Gathering for Newbie's to meet and Mingle
Where: Observatory
When: March 7th
Summary: Zelda is getting a party together for those who are new and old so that everyone can meet. She will also answer anyone's question.
Warning: None yet. Will monitor.
The Observatory looks like it was still being worked on from the outside. The building was old and the heroes have only had a few months to work on it. Stables were in the process of being built around the side and it looks as if you can see the whole city from its highest point.
Inside the main entrance was cleaned and made to feel comfortable with soft lighting and polished floors. The front desk has snacks and drinks on it while chairs line the walls. The designs are simple favoring functionality over gaudiness.
[ooc: Feel free to make top posts and tag around! Figured it'd be a great place to meet and talk! Zelda will have a top post to answer questions... to the best of her abilities.]

It was a real shame because this one was beautiful, shining and festive. The event was making her stomach turn a little from nerves as she waited dutifully for the other shoe to drop. Keeping to the fringes of the party, Anthy watched before finally making her way to the snacks.

"They're an interesting lot, aren't they?"
no subject
"They're very colorful, to say the least."
no subject
"But you're still trying to come to a judgment of what to make of all this I expect? Was the world you came from as fantastic as this one or more mundane?" By her tone, this world must have been a shock to the pirate.

Anthy nodded slightly. Ohtori was not mundane by any stretch of the imagination, but it had been her normal for some time. Taking the offered glass, the former - that was taking some getting used to - Rose Bride sipped delicately and continued her people watching.
"I think this place is...strange, and honestly that is not a light use of that word. But it seems pleasant enough."

"I feel the same way. It's certainly better from where I last found myself. Though I do find myself missing a few things. For new ports to find ourselves in, I think we could certainly do worse."
no subject
"Port? So you sail, Mr..." she trailed lightly, now curious.

There was also of course the injustices and the people being taken advantage of by the crowns that vied for control of the islands...but for now she missed the particular freedoms and thrills of pirate life.

"Well, Mr. Kidd, I've never been to the Caribbean. All pictures I saw were beautiful, though I suspect the Caribbean I know and the one you know are very different."

She gave Anthy a friendly salute with her glass before finishing it off. Double blind conversational chess was always a fun party game.

Anthy returned the salute and took a sip. Kidd was interesting and clearly clever - a combination that always made her faintly uncomfortable. Still, the company was nice to have.
"So long have you been sailing?"
no subject
"And what about you? What was life back home for you like?"
no subject
"Not nearly as interesting as here will be." She drained the glass and continued.
"You speak very fondly of your home, Mister Kidd." she chuckled a bit. "You don't seem like the type of man to get homesick."

Have a moogle?
The moogle liked her a lot; she wasn't mean and she didn't judge. He'd told her some funny stories and kept her company, until she felt confident enough to wander on her own. He was staying by the snacks, kind of out of the way. There were KUPO NUTS on the table. PLENTY OF THEM.
This, was a party.
That said, for all that the little moogle was loud a lot of times, he recognized when someone was uncomfortable. Peeking around the table, then moving slightly over to the purple haired girl. Coughing a bit, clearing his throat, shaggy blonde fur falling into his eyes which he shook out then. "Um... Hiya kupo. I can try and help you if anything looks unfamiliar."
Re: Have a moogle?
While the party had her on edge, the moogles about helped settle her nerves. Her moogle Nanami had been assessing the group for her, as she'd lost her nerve.
"Well, this whole place is unfamiliar. But thank you for asking."

Re: Have a moogle?
Returning her attention to Betel-po, she smiled.
"Please, don't worry about me. Nanami offered to check out the rest of the party for me, but it would be nice to talk to someone for a little while."
>.< I forgot my kupos up above...darn moogle-ese.
Re: >.< I forgot my kupos up above...darn moogle-ese.
"Thank you for checking on me. Maybe I can introduce you to Nanami when you come back."
Gonna have him drag Lydia back over too...
True to his word, although he let a good amount of time pass, then the shaggy-furred and striped moogle was leading over a shorter girl. Incredibly pale with black hair, and no shadow but a friendly smile on her face as she came closer. Stopping when Betel-Po did, as he fluttered over to Anthy. "Hiya Kupo. Lyds here is really friendly, so, I brought her to meet you too."
A small curtsey of her own, Lydia ignoring her moogle's grumping about it, along with the friendly smile. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Lydia. This is all pretty new huh, with all these people and them expecting us to be heroes and things."
Re: Gonna have him drag Lydia back over too...
"Everyone here seems polite kupo. This place is very different from your home, from what you said."
"I suppose it would have to be. Thank you Nanami."
As Betel-po returned, Anthy turned her attention back to him and Nanami gave him a hearty wave. At Lydia's introduction Anthy smiled.
"It's nice to meet you Miss Lydia." The warmth left her eyes for just a second as Lydia made small talk about people's expectations. Still, true to form, Anthy kept on, pleasantly.
"What do you expect out of being a hero?"
no subject
"Honestly, I don't know and I haven't thought about it. I'm hoping I can be helpful, and I'll certainly help my new friends, but there's just...so much. I wanna see and explore and do so many things that are new here! It's exciting, and a little intimidating."
no subject
Anthy gave a small chuckle, a spark of warmth in her otherwise cool demeanor. Watching as Lydia spoke excitedly about adventuring and exploring, she sighed. This affinity that she felt, for even just a split second was dangerous. To give defined thought to impulse, especially to one so mired in regret and loneliness, was to cheat both herself and Lydia of whatever proper connection they could make.
But, oh, just for a moment she wished for long hair and a boyish manner.
"It sounds like this place is a good match for you. Where do you think you would like to go first?"
no subject
Lydia put her hands behind her back, posture open and relaxed. "What do you think, is this all different from what you're used to?"
no subject
"I think that this place is interesting. My world was very different from this one, though I suppose the biggest shock is that I'm a hero here." Anthy's laugh was small, but very amused. "I wasn't much of a fighter at home."
