if they saw me now, what would they think [open]
WHO: Dylas, open
WHAT: Dylas killed four people (¯\_(ツ)_/¯) and, despite mind control being the reason, has decided to hole up in the holding cell he's been staying in much to Spark's dismay. Why won't he leave?!
WHEN: Early July
WHERE: Aqures Ixen Police Station
[At least the cot is somehow big enough for him.
Dylas never thought he’d be in this position. During the day, he mostly sleeps. It’s a little uncomfortable, but being the Vampire-job bearer he is, it’s the easiest time for him to do it. It’s impossible to sleep all day with all the noise, though, so Koporo comes and goes, bringing him food and books, fearing the day that Biggs will dock his or his family’s pay after the letter he sent.
Other than that, it’s all quiet. Too quiet, really, considering his pacing doesn’t make a sound as he walks back and forth in his small cell. It’s not even a proper prison, but here he is. It’s better than being out there. He doesn’t know what the others think of him, he hadn’t even been here two months before starting to kill again. It’s better if he’s locked up. That’s what he thinks, anyways.
But he’s still bored.
Sometimes, he stands next to the bars, watching the people come and go, staring at them while they do their work. He’s been told he’s free to leave, but refusing to leave is also kind of a crime, or maybe they’re just humoring him. He isn’t sure, but here he is. Two weeks into his stay, and the police station has yet to rid themselves of the wendigo.]

As he heads towards his office to start on the day's paperwork, he sees Dylas inside his cell, and stops.]
Why are you still here.
no subject
Before you start the paperwork, some girl came over and messed with all of it. It's out of order.
[He's totally going to narc on Yuffie because what a brat.]
no subject
Yuffie. How's she still gettin' into this place? Is everyone else sleepin' around here?
[He gives Dylas a raised eyebrow though.]
Y'didn't answer my question, though.
no subject
[He swishes his tail, just remembering how unpleasant it'd been.]
And I'm staying here. It's for the best.
[He doesn't know for how long, but he feels no inclination to leave...except for when Koporo makes him shower and then someone else lets him back in.]
no subject
[He hangs up his hat on a nearby rack, and runs a hand through his hair in a tired gesture.]
'Sides, that means yer as much of a danger as all of us. Any one of us could be mind controlled. A lot of us were. You don't see all these cells filled up with Heroes.
no subject
[Now that their greeting is done (is it routine yet, for him to greet Sparks and then go about his day living in a holding cell by choice?), he goes to sit on the cot, still watching him and talking to him. He's been through that before. He blames himself.
Today, he presents a new theory.]
You know I was controlled twice, right? I...must've been picked for a reason. If I'd been stronger, I wouldn't have been picked. I'm the threat.
no subject
My guess? They know yer past. The stuff you alluded to durin' the interrogation. Made you an easy scapegoat, someone suspicious to start with. But if Palitutu has the scoop on all 'a us, who's so say someone else doesn't either? But I can't prove that. Can't prove a lot that went on.
Considerin' how everything shook down with Rialynn, I think it's over, for now.

[He sighs, moving to hold his head in his hands. This isn't easy to get over, he'd hoped maybe, just maybe, he was done being a monster. Why shouldn't he go and just touch the Calamity for himself? He hasn't heard a good reason for that yet.]
How the hell'd it all end, anyways? Weren't you there?
no subject
[Sparks answers Dylas's question at first with a quiet sigh, and a pause.]
Yeah, I was there. That Rialynn girl was mind controlled, used some kinda black crystal to kill off a few more people after we all stumbled across the scene of ten dead already. The culprit was probably on the scene, but got away in the chaos.
[He tried to quit after that debacle, but Biggs pretty much wouldn't let him. He felt uncomfortable wearing the uniform lately. He let the city down and shouldn't be here.]
no subject
[He snaps, voice going from a low monotone to an angry yell. His shoulders are heaving, like he might get up and punch something, but he manages to keep it under control.
He's not going to look at Sparks now that he's had an outburst, but for a moment his gaze might've seemed a bit more deadly and golden.]
See? This is...this is why you need to keep me in here. If something happens, maybe one of you can stop me.
no subject
I coulda happened to me. As a matter 'a fact, it did. Not long after I first got here, I got brainwashed 'n attacked a whole bunch of Heroes. So don't gimme that nonsense. But ya don't see me lockin' myself away. Or anyone else who it happened to, for that matter. We may all be on the same side, but we're not yer babysitter, either.
no subject
[His entire body seems to deflate without that anger and while being presented with good logic. He's been telling himself that over and over, but the negative, cynical part of him wins out.]
...you're probably a good person.
no subject
[Sparks huffs a short sigh, doing his best to not just be snarky at Dylas. He walks slowly over to Dylas's cell. He unlocks it with a key from his belt, but he doesn't open the door.]
If ya wanna be a good person, ya go out 'n be a good person. Hidin' in a cell ain't gonna help that. You ain't gonna be anything but a ghost just hidin' in there. But all I can do to help ya is unlock that door. The rest is up to you.
no subject
Have you ever died here?
[The question might be a bit abrupt, but Dylas doesn't care.]
no subject
Yeah. Twice, if ya must know. Why?
no subject
[The answer is obvious, but it should be clear Dylas is working towards making a point.]
no subject
What? I'm pretty alive right now, ain't I? [A beat.] I mean, I came out of crystal stasis both times, so. Yeah. I mean, what am I if I ain't alive then?
no subject
But what if your body died, but you kept moving? What would you be then?
no subject
laughs hard as I leave this tag
Never mind. Just forget it.
omg Sparks has no patience for this, haha
