An Open Letter To Sephiroth
To Mister Sephiroth,
It has been some time since we've last spoke. I do hope that all is going well wherever you may be currently when this letter finds you. I'm not sure when the time might come to you, considering everything you do for the people here, but I would like to take you up on your offer of providing your insight and skill to a sparring match. I've suffice to say become rusty with the sword as I've spent the last month or so trapped within the crystal stasis that has taken so many of our fellow friends.
If you have a place and time in mind, I am flexible enough to trim my open schedule to fit your preference. Please reach me by letter or by way of the Observatory. I plan to spend some time there in the coming weeks to centralize my plans to help with some repairs around the city.
May this letter find you well and I hope to hear from you soon,
Link
II. Into The Woods
The supply of lumber he'd been collecting had since been used or, much to his dismay, suffered to the elements within the time of his being sealed in crystal stasis. With little left to work with, it was now an important trip to the edge of the city to secure his own stockpile source of lumber once more. With an ax over either shoulder, Link walks through the city until he reaches the city limits, stopping and conversing with those interested in keeping his company. Once there, he surveys what trees would be available to his axe, ensuring that anything he takes from the land is replaced with an adequate number of saplings.
Hours into his work, a small pile of wood is collected into a heap, showcasing the speed in which the young Knight works. Anyone passing by is more than welcome to chat or lend a hand. The extra axe he had brought with him would hopefully not go to waste.
II. At the Observatory
To those interested, Link can be found setting up a small workshop of sorts. He's taken a small space where as to not bother any one, setting up a pair of work-horses with a slap of lumber on top to create a temporary work bench. The small pile of chipped and stripped wood starts off as rough cuts, but they will soon become new furniture and structural beams that will go towards those in need in the city.
On the short list of parchment that Link has with him, he starts at the top and begins crafting a series of support beams. Clamps and tools are spread around the floor as the Skyloftian does his part without the use of sword and shield, putting his hands to a skill he had been missing for some time. There's plenty of extra tools at his disposal, enough for a small team to offer their assistance.. but where would Link find the extra help he needs?

[Morning Post] - Then Action :3
Thank you for your letter.
It just so happens I'm in Aqures Ixen for the next few days before taking a short duty back to Esdham again. It's good to learn that you are returned to us from the stasis.
If you feel up to it, I often occupy one of the smaller training halls in the 10th district, for fine-tuning technique. There is ample enough room for sparring if you'd be interested in an afternoon, sometime.
Just let me know, I'll be there.
~Sephiroth
[Action]
Sephiroth occasionally picks one of the halls that seems, in the past, to have been used for a similar purpose; for rehearsing those steps which form any one of the various combat-forms involved in any melee discipline. To continue to work on his own personally fine-tuned sword style, for moving through a kata, or even just to sharpen something as simple as balance.
Moreso recently, now he finds he's able once more to wield his legendary sword; Masamune in a way that's about as close as he's ever got to what he remembers of his time before Crystallis. Now it's all in the making his body -with his custom job equipped- remember.
Still, true as ever to himself in the need-to-be-better, the fine-tuning continues-]
Re: [Action]
His shield and scabbard slung over his shoulder, Link had made his way with haste to the aforementioned training hall. He'd never been to the facility before, but it was an area he knew of. With little to no difficulty, Link arrived some what early with a bit of nervousness in the shakiness of his breathing.
The doors opened with the push of a single arm, parting the way in to see in the short distance across from the entry way the man he'd been long waiting to speak with. His expression fumbles briefly, going from one of awe to worry then confusion. Clearing his throat, Link makes his arrival known, despite almost tripping over his own step as he tries to walk confidently into the hall.]
T-Thank you for meeting me like this! It really is an honor to finally have the chance to do this.
[Action]
Training is Sephiroth's idea of 'fun' whereas for so many others it might be just another chore. His skill and expertise with his blade have been something he's perfected throughout most of his life; something entirely of him and not so much pushed on him by others. Even if questions have been raised, like the edges of old scabs picked, over that fact.
The focused swordsman already knows that Link is there, but does appreciate the small noise to make his presence known. Sephiroth's back is to Link as he approaches and he smiles only to himself before turning; perhaps mercifully missing any chance of seeing Link potentially stumble.]
Hm. [He nods, a sharp tilt of his head forwards, as well as acknowledging with a noise low from in his throat as he slackens his arm enough for Masamune to lilt to the one side of him.]
I can only apologize, that it's taken so long to make time for it.
Re: [Action]
Ah-! No need to apologize! I understand! You're really important to the military here, and especially to the heroes you're close with. I can't rightly fault you for devoting your time for either of those things.
[Link bends down, shuffling to pick up his things instead of leaving them in a disgraceful pile upon the floor. A layer of perspiration covers his forehead, summoned by the anxiousness and embarrassment he was visibly displaying.]
I can't promise that I'll be worth while to help you improve, but it is still an honor regardless!
[Action]
Sure, when the war was going on the military had been crying out for anyone with the resume that he had, what with both the experience and expertise in almost all disciplines relevant to warfare and battle. Since Hera's capital had been swallowed by the Calamity, alongside the airways having been opened to Mysidia, Esdham still wanted for many soldiers but it wasn't quite what Sephiroth had signed up for anymore.
There was no defending the Aqurean region from the Empire anymore, their enemy now being the advancing Crystal sea which the Heroes had been tasked with yet still had no idea how to fight.]
Thank you, for understanding, all the time.
[Patient, if a little stern, green eyes that hold more of a gleam again now follow Link as he shuffles to retrieve his things from where he suddenly dropped them. In a swift motion, Masamune is swept forwards -singing as it cuts the air- and gracefully placed down on the mat in front of him. Once done Sephiroth steps over the blade and crouches to help Link.
In another life, perhaps, but as they are now there is no reason at all for Link to feel this nervous.]
It's fine. Honestly I'm not worth such high praise.
[About as reassuring as he can make himself sound, point of fact.]
