THORVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!!!!!!!!

Hey everybody!

How're you all doing? Good? Good!

Okay so, just to make sure we're all on the same page, here's a quick recap of the latest plot. This includes information that, as of this writing is NOT available to any of the characters. I'll be sure to differentiate so we know what's what!

- Loki is a poop and destroyed about two blocks worth of lower-income, not-quite-slummy area.
- While it looked like a temper tantrum thrown by Daddy's Second Favorite, it actually served a legit purpose! You see, Team Sabotage wound up winning the 'The General' story arc, and therefore broke him out of Normal!Police prison. Noiz, a newcomer to the plot, worked on the actual break out, while Jim Moriarty worked as an escort. <-- NOT KNOWN JUST YET
- The General is no longer on the ship-- this is going to leak sometime soon. Hopefully. Gotta work out a couple of details there.
- There were NO casualties NPC or PC; Also, PC housing wasn't affected.
- Why did they do this? Shits and giggles, mostly.

Now that we have that out of the way (any questions, and I'll be happy to answer them!) there is a nice little proposition that's come out of this that, while not initially intended, worked out REALLY nicely!

So, who here knows about The Avengers? You know, that movie that's not very well known and may have attracted some mainstream attention over the past couple of weeks. It's based on this comic book that nobody really cares about. It's okay if you don't, it's not that big of a deal.

Well, after this latest plot, a very nice point was brought up: The Thor is going to need a group of Good Guys to keep the Purists and crazies at bay. With the way things have been going thus far, everyone has been too splintered and relatively ineffective against the real threat. And seeing how well the Avengers, Normandy Crew, and a few other people worked together against Loki, there's going to be a meeting with everyone. Eventually, our goal is to ICly have an even bigger team opened up to other players/characters.

Now what does this mean for us?

Obviously, it wouldn't be fair to push anybody into doing something they don't want to, ICly or OOCly, so this is going to be a plot post to go over a few different things, since the first meeting will understandably handwaved. Once we hammer out those details, I'll make a recap post so we're all on the same page again.

What the meeting will be about (In a handy list format!):

- Risk assessment of the Thor. Does it need a team of Do-Gooders to keep it safe? (The answer is 'YES' if it weren't obvious)
- Who wants to be involved in the actual team. Everyone who's been propositioned will have time to think about it before another huge get together to give their answers.
- Whether or not to let other people know/open the doors for newcomers who want to play hero. (This will eventually happen, and the ooc stuff will be taken care of by Xy/lightnings's player)
- Anything else you think should be brought up? Let it be known in the comments!

We also want to confirm:

- Who actually wants a part in the Thorvengers (TITLE PENDING). If you feel your character wouldn't be a part of the group, whether or not they're a part of the Normandy Crew, or if YOU don't want to be involved as a player, it is PERFECTLY ALL RIGHT to say no!
- Who would react to whom, and how-- we unfortunately don't really have the time/means to coordinate a logged meeting with so many people, so handwaving things would probably be the best.
- Anything your character can bring to the table. For example, Garrus will probably bring up previous attempts to get people together for anti-Purist talks and also his vigilante work down in the slums. This is a great time for any and all characters to bring information to the table!
- Again, anything else you can think of!

You know how every team has that one asshole who will murder the fuck out of someone as long as it makes things go more smoothly?

Yeah, right here. Basically I love just having him knock heads with the more ~noble~ hero types. Plus, he's Shepard and he's used to being in charge, so he's on this like flies on horseshit.

Oh, I guess you want shit specifics like up there where you asked is this sentence even english uh:

-YES and NO? Yeah, he's a part of the group, but fuck if he's going to trust any of the other people like he trusts his Normandy pals. They have to earn that first before he's willing to branch out to actually working side-by-side with them in the field. He'll let Jane be the more welcoming Shepard for now until the rest earn his trust.

-HE'D REACT BY BEING A RENEGADE? Like I said, he butts heads with the idealistic, pacifistic, nobler types. Une, for example.

-He brings to the table the fact he saved a damn universe. Also, he's been working the underground (especially when TIM was around, looking for Purists businesses, hacking credit accounts with his infiltrating skills, etc). And, you know, he's got that charismatic leader thing going on where he can unite and all that jazz. N7 Graduate, shitload of training, infiltration training, tactics, and he will get the job done no matter the cost fufufu.

There. I answered. Now I sleep.

But in all seriousness (and it shouldn't have taken me this long to get back to this herp) Like I said before to Noah, a nice dose of healthy skepticism is a good thing. I'm also wondering about the whole charismatic leader thing, too-- because we've got a couple of those lined up in the group. That's a LOT of leader types.

YEAH I FIGURED. And I'm always for giving everyone a chance to have badass cool moments with their character, that's part of RP! Maybe try something like grouping people into specialized "cells" run by a leader type and giving each cell a specific mission and long term goal to work towards. It might even be something that Miranda brings up herself since it's similar to how Cerberus works.

And there is always the "rogue splinter group" way of doing things. IE the black ops type group that doesn't mind doing the really dirty things as long as it's for a good cause in the long run, but if they're ever caught, the main Thorvengers group will, to steal from Mission Impossible here, disavow any knowledge of their actions. No paper trails that can be traced back to the main group, stuff like this. I can see renegade Sheploo volunteering for this, probably someone like Thane too, etc etc.

Maybe Mordin too because lol STG and that sounds like the kind of thing he'd be used to. He can do his sneaky salarian shit from his HOME BASE aka clinic. Now that Mordin has John working there full time he's be more available for MISSION STUFF should the need arise.

Awwwwyeh, that's what I'm talking about you sneaky little salarian motherfucker. STG definitely makes Mordin qualified. I've been reading shit in the codex and the ME wiki about N7 and just exactly all the crazy shit they train for and how it sounds real black ops style which is why I mentioned this.

Yeah man. I see them as sort of being the group that the others have to turn to when something calls for a more morally grey type of view -- working the criminal underworld, building contacts, things that would leave a bad taste in the mouth of most of the others. I mean, most of these other characters have some pretty strong views on justice and what's right (they're the goddamn Avengers), so there are going to be situations that they will be vehemently against.

Then you have like the secret black ops group that doesn't mind if they have to break into a purist-owned business to steal something or wreck shit up, break some of the Thor's laws, etc. It's like in The Dark Knight when Batman went over to Japan or wherever and grabbed that dude and brought him back to Gotham. The Gotham PD couldn't do that because of international laws of extradition and shit.

......I want this to be a thing. Thane's canonically commented on how the law doesn't protect people who don't obey them and he's all about making shady contacts. So let's get a renegade asskicking squad together and hide behind the good guys y/fy?

ALSO this is basically the entire premise of X-Force so we'd be staying true to comic shit too awwww yeah
