[So, the first New Year at Luceti. Mulder spends some of the evening alone in his place just thinking things over, before he realizes he really ought to actually partake in some kind of celebration. It's not like he can turn on the TV and see "Catherine's Rocking New Year" or some such. ...He's not so sure he'd want to anyway.]

[So he'll eventually make his way off to see what sort of gathering is happening out there. He's doing his best to mingle tonight! He'll of course be around watching fireworks when those go off.]

[Ami isn't much for crowds, either, so when she isn't busy being tugged along by Usagi anyway, she's been keeping to quieter, out of the way places. Which... makes it no real surprise that she runs into Mulder. She gives him a smile and a quick dip of her head.]

Happy New Year. The fireworks are beautiful, aren't they?

[He grins as a particularly colorful series of bursts shoot through the sky.]

It's a surprise that we got to spend the holidays in peace...

I suppose we should take advantage of that to make plans for the next while. After all, these peaceful times might not last forever. [In fact, here, it's likely they won't.]

Only a matter of time and all of that, I had a feeling. At least we didn't get a visit by the Grinch or anything along those lines. [He's met so many so-called 'fictional' people in the past months that he can't help but be wary.]

I was thinking about that earlier too, about planning and preparing for when that peace ends. I can't help but wonder where we'll be at this time next year...

[Probably right back here, concerned about the same issues. Unless things drastically change.]

When you say it like that, I feel as though I haven't made much progress in the time I've been here. We really don't seem to be closer to a solution at all. Even with the various information we've received at times.

Things have improved though, right? I for one am glad to have missed out on the Pre-Electricity era...

[Considering this is a new place and she's not too privy to what goes on in this place too much during the holidays, this is new and exciting! So Scully is out and about when she sees her partner wandering as she is. And she'll wave.]
