Luceti Valley - The Second Log
Who: Everyone
What: The second part of the experiment. Things begin to unravel.
When: August 7th - August 10th
Where: Luceti itself
Summary: Check out the mod post for more. This covers Day 6-9!
Rating: Varies with thread. Please move explicit stuff to appointments post with appropriate warnings.
Luceti Valley continued in its own merry little way. The rich got richer, the poor got poorer. A new tax hike had ensured increasing animosity between both groups, despite the protests of the every charitable Lord Mayor. But on the sixth day, something happens and people begin to notice things are unusual. Idle thoughts that if thought about too much is bound to get you a visit to the police station for an hour or so. Or worse, it may just get you committed.
Meanwhile, the asylum continues to gain more and more patients. Those that are trapped there will find escaping difficult, but there may be more to this place than they first assumed...
On the tenth, battle breaks out across Luceti Valley. People begin to exhibit powers and abilities they didn't know they had. The police begin rounding up these people to lock up. If they resist, its bound to come to blows. Even though no one has regained their memories of their true self yet, it becomes apparent that some trickery is afoot, even if they might not know the source or why.
Note: This is the second log! There will be a third and final event log for the aftermath. There will also be two separate logs specifically for finding John and defeating Zompano. For those of you that signed up, we'll be randomizing the results and replying to the selected characters later tonight. In the meantime, keep enjoying the event! If you have questions, direct them here.

[It's been a nice week, but he's up again early in the morning, his wife fast asleep next to him. It suddenly hits him how strange it is that she's just...so much younger than him. Something he didn't really ever think about. And he's not really one to just go after girls twenty years younger. And...isn't it strange that Bulla is so old for his wife being so young? The year difference suddenly doesn't make sense to him.
On Day 7 he goes to the local tavern to get a drink to think about it. It eats at him, and he doesn't understand why. In fact, he's had a few too many...and he doesn't understand how he just drank almost twenty beers until he finally felt something.
Humansnormal people aren't supposed to be able to do that without feeling horribly sick. But yet he's only beginning to feel a little drunk? What's with that?On Day 8 he can be found all over town, keeping to himself mostly. One place he'll be is Historic Luceti, taking a walk around and trying to collect his thoughts, just looking like something is really bothering him. He'll return to his office later that day, until finally returning home.]
Day 9
[On Day 9 he's back at work. He walked to work that morning, needing the time to himself. It's normal until he rips the door handle out of his office door. After that fiasco in the office, he's out and about in Luceti- noticing the police activity was at an all time high, some of his own workers have gone missing in the last few days and with all the ruckus, well...he's not sure what's going on anymore but he knows there's something horribly wrong around here. He ends up punching a cop out or two who might be harassing one of the Lucetians, and by punching them out it's more like sending them through the wall of the nearest building, which is going to get him into a lot of trouble. He will also be found fighting cops on his own after the initial engagement, as they are trying to bring him into the station for detainment.]
Day 9
The three chasing after him yell for Vash to stop.] No way! I'm not going to your creepy station! I haven't even done anything yet!
[He turns to yell this at them as he crosses the street. Vegeta better watch out or he's going to get a face full of Vash in just a second.]
no subject
He turns, totally linefacing at the scene of his brother being chased by the cops, but he knows there's a good possibility Vash is running not because he actually did something wrong today. So he'll sidestep his broham running past him, and sort of midsection clothesline the first cop, since he's not exactly tall enough to be doing an actual clothesline, flipping the guy on his back.
He doesn't say anything, though he's caught the attention of the other two who've at least stopped chasing Vash? This is good, right?]
no subject
[If he's worried about being wanted by the cops Vash sure doesn't show it as the second officer points at him.]
We just want to bring in that man for some questioning. [And possibly throw him in the asylum now that he's proven to be a pain in the butt and the first few "suggestions" they gave him before aren't sticking.] There's no need to start a scene here, don't interfere and we can over look the assault on one of Luceti's finest today. [For some reason, they don't exactly want to fight Vegeta.
Vash happily snorts and helps out by making a face at the two officers left standing.] HA! Questioning! Yeah right, ask a few questions about a possible missing kid and now you want to lock me up for it! Go jump in the river and leave me alone, would ya!?
[Of course, this bravado may be coming from the fact that big (short) brother is here now.]
no subject
[They aren't taking Vash. Not if he has any say about it.]
no subject
[The cops of course have no intention of leaving. Instead placing their hands on their guns and standing firm.] This is your last warning. Stand down and let us do our jobs. [They even start to upholster their guns, but what sounds like a single shot cracks in response as they do. Both of their guns flying from their hands mere nano seconds after each other.]
Now, now. Guns in a fist fight just isn't fair. [Let Vegeta fight his fights for him? Sure. Let his brother get shot for him? No. Vash hardly even thought about it as he saw them moving for their guns. Simply bent down, grabbed the gun off the fallen officer and shot their weapons out of their hands in one swift motion.
He shot- wait a second. He had never fired a gun in his life before! And he just- and then he- so he just shot at cops- and he never had-
Huh, good thing he didn't miss.
Of course now the cops are angry. Grabbing for batons instead to rush at the two as Vash stands up from his crouch a little too mystified to even think of firing the gun in his hand off again.]

Day 9
When Vegeta walks by, two of them have her arms and she's kicking a third wildly while two more head over. Clearly she could use some help, because what's a delicate noble lady to do...]
H-hey! Let me go! I haven't done anything wrong!
no subject
Though he hasn't discovered that's become very, very far now.
Either way he turns around, and taps the third cop on the shoulder-]
Didn't anyone teach you how to treat a lady? [Which results in a right hook as hard as he possibly can throw it, landing it right on the side of the cop's head, sending him flying...through several buildings and houses.
Vegeta however, is blinking in shock. He had no idea he could do that. He swears he's not on steroids.]
no subject
Then they let her go and rush him with a cry of "get him!"
Which leaves her unhindered, and despite her jaw dropping at her rescuers Herculean strength, she knows that she should help.]
That...wasn't terribly wise.
[Now free, she lashes out with a fist and clips one, sending him tripping towards Vegeta...]
no subject
The second, however, manages to get his arms around Vegeta, restraining both his arms in a full nelson.]
Let go of me before I break you in two! Let go!

Look! More of them!

Day 8
But his son's never seen combat. He's never seen anything rougher than a hard game. He's made sure his children will never have to live that.
He's worried. That's all it is. A father worried about his child.
Which is why David is trying to focus on business. He announces himself to the secretary and waits to be shown in. He offers a small bow to his fellow... before shaking his head a little and stepping in.]
I'm sorry to call on you on such short notice. I was hoping we might talk a little more about your team's idea.
no subject
Have a seat. Was there a concern you came up with since our last little talk? [He can't really think of what he could possibly be concerned with, but his concentration isn't all on the project right now.]
no subject
Abigail-- [He stops. Blinks. Shakes his head.
That's not right. His wife's name is...]
--Gwen and I were discussing it over dinner. She mentioned... [What was it? He'd known a moment ago, but now the conversation was foggy.
He shut his eyes, trying to think.]
--God help me. I'm more tired than I thought. All this way, and... I can't remember a damn word of what she said.
no subject
It seems like you can't even get your own wife's name straight. [It's said curtly, lashing out due to his own frustrations with his reality. It's not right of him and he knows it, but he doesn't care. However, he dismisses his own comment with a wave of his hand.] I'm sure she questioned the mere possibility of being able to condense a vehicle into something so tiny. I would too, if I were anyone with half a brain. I did at first, until I saw it with my own two eyes.
Day 7, because the drink together in all universes
He silently ordered himself a cold one and leaned up against the bar.]
'Sup, Boss. You like the gears are grinding real hard over there.
hahaha awww yissss
What are you talking about, fool? [He rubs his forehead. He had a bad feeling after tonight he was going to have one hell of a headache.] It's been a rough day. I don't know if that much wasn't already obvious.
no subject
It's loud and clear to anyone who comes in here. It's why I'm asking-- an employee can do that, right? It ain't illegal now, is it?
no subject
[He rubs his face and downs another drink, just like that- only a few gulps and it's gone. He isn't saying much but his face doesn't lie, something is really, really bothering him and it's driven him to go out and drink, which is something he doesn't do often.]
no subject
So. What's up? I've seen ya mad, but never like this.

Day 9
There are other details of her life that are off, too. She recalls Capsule Corp selling far more advanced technology than they currently are, even though such things don't even exist here. She remembers watching her father compete in martial arts tournaments...but that's silly. They don't have things like that here. He's just very physically fit, and she's an athletic cheerleader.
Shopping is about the only thing that feels right at the moment, and even that is interrupted by police officers that have been unusually aggressive, even with some members of the upper class. One grabs her by the arms and when she squirms, another goes to seize her. It's only then that things get truly bizarre. She reflexively shoots out a high kick, but instead of knocking the officer over onto his behind, he goes flying all the way across the street. When she breaks out of the other officer's grip, she does so with enough force to throw him into a bush over twenty feet away.]
What the hell?
[She's not one to use bad language, generally. This situation is disturbing enough to warrant it. It's not long after that she spots her father being confronted by some police officers and she starts yelling.]
Have all of you gone completely out of your minds?! Do you know who you're trying to arrest?! Leave my father alone right now or I'll slap some sense into you!
Day 9
[The voices of angered officers can be heard as they try to get answers out of him, though he stands silent knowing they'd try to forcefully take him soon. His head turns at the sound of his daughter, and that's when worry streaks across his face for just a second- but enough that it's caught by the officers. One goes to meet Bulla, trying to grab her arm with the intent to bring her over to the pack of cops surrounding her father.]
Day 9
Um...
[She's weirded out, but when she tries to move around, it's surprisingly easy - as if it's something she's been able to do for years. She lands right beside her father.]
Dad! What's going on? It's like everything and everyone is going crazy! And before this, I--
[She cuts herself off, deciding that this is not the time or place to mention that she kicked a police officer across the street.]
no subject
Fly home. I'll handle this. [He's not surprised to see her fly. He'd discovered that earlier himself.]
no subject
[He's always been physically fit, and if she has powers, it's not surprising that he has them, too. Still, she doesn't feel good about leaving him behind. He's a businessman, not a warrior. His fights are fought through harsh business negotiations, not through physical force.
...or are they? There's a moment of doubt, there, saying that maybe he is a fighter and just out of practice. Or something. Maybe he boxed in his youth and just neglected to mention it to her. But then, that isn't right, either. For a moment, she recalls cheering him on as a little girl in a tournament, but that's a fake memory, isn't it?]
I don't want to leave you behind when I could do something to help.
