June Event: Chaos, Chaos!
JUNE EVENT: CHAOS, CHAOS!
Who: Anyone and everyone!
What: It's just a little chaos...
When: June 17th - June 22nd
Where: Primarily Io, though also across Ensō and the islets if applicable
Warnings: Violence, possible body horror, potential anxiety and dysmorphia associated with body-swapping

Who Keeps Spinning the World Around?
The morning of June 17th, you'll probably notice things are amiss rather quickly. Your hands aren't your hands, or you're no longer in a squishy human flesh shape, or worse. Maybe your Lawful Good persona has plummeted into an outright Chaotic Evil one. Or maybe you wake up with a brand new power in your hands! Whatever the case is, no explanation is going to be immediately forthcoming, from Eleu or the Storyteller or anyone else. You'll have to figure out this mess on your own.
Adjust to your new circumstances, master your new powers, and do what you can to make it through the next few days...because they're going to be some very interesting ones, for certain.

Catch Me If You Can!
Come June 20th, whether you're back to normal selves or not, Eleu has a job for you. A request, even. They're going to need your help to take care of this little problem and put a stop to all this absolute madness.
Those interested in helping can get in touch with any of the honeybees buzzing anxiously about Io, and they will redirect you to the Honeycomb, which has now been provided with several barrels of Honeycomb Sledgehammers for your use. You don't have to take one if you don't need it, but they make a very powerful weapon. Additionally, Eleu will take care to assure that, in exchange for your help, you may keep the Sledgehammer, if you so choose.
Those interested in assisting may access our boss fight at its top-level below. This is a single thread with no order, but anyone may participate, regardless of their current state of being. Don't worry about how you contribute, or tag speed. Anyone who's concerned about being left out is welcome to reach out to us to handwave or backtag their involvement, if necessary!
The Clown Box is going to put up a fight, though. And it's not going to be pretty.

beau | ota | will match format!
[One morning, all of a sudden, she doesn't exactly come to consciousness.
Beau's native world doesn't have electricity, or AIs, or anything more technologically advanced than a flintlock pistol- it makes it hard to describe the sudden on from off, like a switch flicking. If she had to find the words for it, it's like the crack of a punch, the snap moment from nothing to pain. But this doesn't hurt. It actually feels... mostly like nothing.
She sits up from her bed in a start, met not with the rustle of fabric of the feeling of her own skin but through a slightly metallic grind, a scrape of plastic on plastic that makes her instinctively look at her hands. Except they're not her hands, they're hands from a blue mechanized suit she doesn't understand. She's even-- stuck in it, it feels like? Can she--
No. It feels like her. The whole thing feels like her.]
What the fuck.
[She says it to no one in particular, but even her voice sounds filtered, and that's enough to cause her to go leaping out of bed and out onto islet 1, out of the new cottage half the Nein have moved into and over to the water so she can look at herself... or well, not herself.
This time, she speaks much louder.]
WHAT THE FUCK!
ii. [later] i can take a beating like a good pair of headphones
[Alright, so there are perks to this. She doesn't feel hunger, or fatigue- there's no need to pause to eat and no sweat on her brow. Even if this body isn't hers and the muscles don't have the exact memory of her arms and legs, she still has a certain amount of movement and finesse so she's not without a way to defend herself. It's still weird, though. Still damn weird, frankly.
But as far as she figures, this is an opportunity to do something she doesn't usually get to do. It's like a polymorph- possibly inconvenient, but temporary. Time to take this body for a spin. Which is why she's running around Enso, finding the tallest thing she can climb, and then jumping off it to roll to the floor in a mess of scraping plastic and metal. She gets up just fine though, her voice in a laugh coming through filtered with a speaker loud and clear.]
Okay, okay, I can admit-- that's fucking great.
[Beau pulls herself to her feet, a little muttering under her breath to herself, though anyone nearby who saw-- or heard-- that stunt can probably hear it as they approach.]
None of it looks broken. It's probably fine.
iii. [wildcard] and you laugh till you're out, out of breath, cpr, mouth to mouth
[If you want any other prompts or plotting with Beau, hit me up via PM or at
ii
It's nice to watch someone else run around though and if Beau turns to look towards the cloaked body in the shade, she'll see a little sprite write-]
10/10
[NICE LAND. GREAT.]
no subject
So she simply won't think about that. Easy. As if she can afford to just, not think about things. It's part of the reason she's out here doing flips and shit, because even that is tangible. If somehow she manages to hurt herself, that's tangible, it's real--
Beau hears the sprite before she sees the text, turning around once before she spots Drifter under the nearest tree, and waves to them. Even with no mouth, she instinctually puts a hand to the front of the helmet where a mouth would be.]
Hey! Drif-- oh, shit!
[Wait a fucking second. They're sitting down. The Drifter doesn't just sit. If she had eyes to squint right now, she'd be doing it.]
Are you Drifter?? Or someone else?
no subject
two
who are you?
[Because it stands to reason the trend would be hitting most people and that this person, wild as they are, isn't in their own body either. She doesn't bother trying to move or stand to greet them, only glancing up best as she can through eyes that definitely aren't her own.
Boy, she really hates this, by the way.]
no subject
Oh! The climbing girl, hey, I remember you.
[That might help illustrate who she is, but in this case, she just introduces herself since the other woman asked.]
It's Beau. You know, uh...
[She does a little one-two punch in the air. You know. Punchy. Surely this is a description of her. To help, she raises her arms and does a little motion like a bun on top of her head where her hair usually is.]
no subject
i remember you too
when did you change? when will we change back?
no subject
Uhhh, not super long ago. But it seems to be happening to a lot of people. You're not the first I've seen.
[Actually, that raises a question.]
Do you know who you switched with? Because I recognize that-- uh, your face.
no subject
i think they're hurt though.
[Not that she's interested in investigating this unknown body. It's not hers and that lowkey invasion of privacy is too much. This bodyswitching, at least, wasn't by choice. She's just trying to keep it together.]
no subject
[Beau isn't the kind of person who spreads other people's secrets unless it's damn important, or she needs something out of them. This is neither here nor there. But she will give one thing, because it may be vital to getting them back.]
Their name is Drifter. And they're not super strong. I punched them once and they died.
[A moment's pause, where she realizes she should maybe explain herself.]
It wasn't really dying. It was like, this maze with mortal challenges but if you lost one everyone just started over. So.
[It was super dying and she ate it like 8 times. She just... isn't thinking about that! Cool! Beau gestures to herself instead, which really just means the suit.]
You know who this is?
i.
She's on her way back towards where the rest are, when she does spot a familiar set of armour, or semi-familiar. It's not like Carolina had had any interaction with the Alpha at Freelancer, and here, she can't say he's exactly her favourite person, or AI. Then again, there's so much involved in that. Her father, her mother, Epsilon...]
Hey! [You? Alpha? Leonard? Church? The problem is all those names have issues, with the last one being her own last name, and the latter two being her father's full name. She does come to a stop It's slightly shriller than she intends, but holy shit this body is different from her own.] What are you doing?
[Trying to drown himself? Which doesn't actually seem like what he is going. Blatantly, she realizes, there's no way in hell that he's going to know who this is...]
no subject
[Beau spins out from staring at the water, a horrible sort of clunking noise as a much heavier form adjusts to the kind of movement she's trying to put into it and comes down hard on her butt. She was trying to get up, but the usual focus she needs to stand went only as far as getting onto her knees, and then it was just a tangle of everything before she was on the ground again. Oops.]
Uh-- nothing! Not. Really anything, uh-- Jester?
[Is this happening to everyone or just her? Time to find out. And also to figure out what the hell is happening. Is everyone turning into a fake person in a suit? Did she hop a world over or something? Is she gonna die??
At least she doesn't say any of that, for once. Even without a mouth she'd be capable of chattering.]
no subject
Late, she remembers that he likely has no idea who she is, which isn't that different from usual anyway. The AI isn't her father, and isn't Epsilon, but his own person, or being rather, having lives his own life in Blood Gulch without an awareness of his situation.]
Jester?
[Confusion at that sentence. As in a jest, a joke? Jester is certainly not something that she has ever been called, even if Church wouldn't know that. Cold hearted bitch, sure, uptight, and a variety of others, but never a joker.]
It's Carolina.
no subject
Uhh. Okay, this is gonna sound really fucked, but you're gonna have to give me more of a description of what you usually look like. Also, I did not steal this suit, I just can't take it off.
[She's starting to put this together. Kind of.]
no subject
I've a suit of armour like that, although different.
[A newer version than what the Alpha has here.]
Red hair, green eyes, and... is there even a body in there?
[Which may or may not be an odd question depending.]
no subject
I think so. I mean, it's not empty, so I've gotta be inside, right?
[But just to illustrate the whole thing, she reaches up and tries to remove the helmet. There's probably locks and stuff, but she couldn't begin to know where those are, so she just tugs instead to show the example.]
But uh, wait. So if you're not Jester... how did you get in there? You think I'm in a whole other person?
no subject
She squints, as if the answer to that would magically appear. Epsilon had been able to project, but he'd been an AI implanted, and the Alpha had been something else. To say it's confusing would be an understatement.
It's still a strange way of answering the question. Carolina had been used to the suit though, and really, did only understand it from her point of view. So, is there a body, or no...? Does it really matter...?]
I don't know. I woke up like this in a strange bedroom.
[Annoyance hinted at in her voice.]
And that looks like Church- er, his armour.
no subject
Ugh, this is some magic bullshit, isn't it.
[Beau doesn't actually expect Jes-- this person to answer that, because they probably don't know, but at the very least it helps her to reason with it.]
So you're saying this isn't some trapped in somebody's clothes thing. This is someone else that my brain got tossed into that happens to be in this suit.

Hey!
[He has to live with his own stupid voice, and even though it's weird hearing it from the outside, he definitely still recognizes it. To speak nothing of catching a glimpse of blue armor launching itself from on high!!!
So here comes an outrageously tall older man, having to pause by his own body to take a short breather. Man. Okay, he knows he feigns breathing as a robot just because it's familiar, but actual hard breathing and fatigue is the pits. No wonder Grif likes being lazy. Point to Team Grif.]
That--you, that's--the fuck are you doing to my body?!
no subject
The explanation kind of helps, even if her answer sure won't. She points an armored finger to her chest.]
Who, me?
[Beau literally knows they mean her. But also, maybe she can escape consequences a little.]
Look, don't worry, I'm a trained professional.
[Trained in fucking what]
no subject
Are you even qualified to operate that thing! You're gonna scuff and dent it all up! You go recharge at a mana pool this instant! Don't you get any bright ideas about pushing the limits or you're gonna hurt yourself, and more importantly, myself!
no subject
Wait, this is yours? Like, the whole package? Look, I didn't break anything, it works fine.
[Recharge by the mana pool though?? She can usually go a while without doing that when it's just her ki. And everything seems fine, even if she should probably be looking more at the warnings and not her own feelings on the matter...]
And I'm trained in, y'know, martial arts. Flips and stuff. I'm not just using your muscles or whatever for a joyride because I can't do this otherwise.
[It is kind of a joyride though. Oops.]
no subject
[He says as if he hasn't missed it.]
Just don't break anything.
no subject
[Oh shit, that's kinda sick. Or at least it is until she process that "doesn't have to" also means "can't". She'd like to have the option, y'know.]
Can't I just give you this armor or something? I don't even want to be wearing it, I just don't know how to get it off.
no subject
And you uh. Don't. Take it off. Cuz it's your body.
no subject
[The fuck you mean it's the body. But there's... she's in here, right? There's something in here??
Shit.]
Wait, so. I'm not just stuck in here. Your body is like... not a body. There's nothing that isn't built in here.
[Why is that making her panic a little bit? Maybe she's just having a hard time concepting what that really means.]
