002 ☄ video
[Compared to some, Castiel had managed to hold out for a while before one of the roots had gotten to him. It's only on the third day that he's caught by surprise, that his angel blade isn't enough to fight off one of the plants when it comes creeping forward.
Now he's in the exact same shape as the rest of the mansion, though Castiel's shared a body with someone else before. It's not the same, seeing how Jimmy (and any other vessels he's taken) had been more or less unconscious the entire time. This Mirror, on the other hand...
On top of being a part of him, it also becomes clear what part of his life it's meant to signify when the presence in his mind introduces itself as Emmanuel and starts asking question after question. Castiel's managed to ignore the buzz in his head, though, and eventually his Mirror had quieted down, but now he has an idea of what everyone else is dealing with.
Which also means that he's now capable of being of some help, beyond simply trying to keep the roots under control. That's a losing battle no matter which way he looks at it.]
[So Castiel does something rare and records a message of himself on his phone, broadcasting it to the rest of the mansion. His expression is as flat as always, but there might be a hint of grimness to it for anyone who knows him well enough to pick up the subtle differences.]
I haven't had much interaction with the Mirrors myself, but I've heard enough to understand how dangerous they can be. I think I may be able to offer some assistance.
[His gaze drops down to his hand.]
This is untested for the moment, but it's possible I can disable its consciousness in your mind, to give... if nothing else, a small reprieve. If you're able to arrest control for long enough, you can contact me and I'll offer whatever help that I can.
[The feed shakes and tilts as he moves to turn it off, but then he pauses, remembering something. His face appears again, though slightly closer than before, and off-center.] For those who don't know me, my name is Castiel.

Could you do that with my Mirror, please? She's really strong and really dangerous. I don't want her let out.
Of course. Where are you? [The background on her side of the feed isn't all that clear, so he can't make out her location.]
[She grits her teeth and closes her eyes, letting out a whimper of pain. Holding her Mirror back is no easy task.]
I can protect myself, yes. [He answers that with no hesitation.] Where on the second floor? What are you near? I can get you outside.
[The middle of the woods would be a good place to handle something like this.]
[The pain's too much and she doubles over with a cry. When she straightens, Mirror Lena is glaring into her device.]
Try it and I'll rip you limb from limb with a thought.
[video] → [action]
As a precautionary measure, when he flies his way over and lands near the library he already has his angel blade out and held tight in one hand.
It doesn't take long to spot the stranger and her Mirror, and Castiel steps up to her, eyes narrowed.]
With a thought?
no subject
You'd like a demonstration? Okay.
[And Castiel will find himself taken off his feet and slammed into the nearest wall with a great deal of force.]
no subject
He's planning to march right up to her and try to disable the Mirror before she can do anything, but that hardly goes as planned.
Instead, his whole body is lifted up by an invisible force and tossed against the wall, and it takes an immense amount of power to do something like that to an angel. He's been through it before, which is the only reason that Castiel's even able to process what's going on as he hits the wall and then falls down to the ground.
His Mirror isn't quite as adaptable, and Castiel does his best to drown out the panic in his mind as he picks himself up to his feet.
While he could return the favor, that isn't an option, not when he would be hurting the girl who's trapped inside that body as well. This is far too similar to possession for comfort. He advances toward her again, blade held forward, ready to defend himself in case she has another trick up her sleeve.]
no subject
Nice letter opener.
[And she conjures a ball of flame in the palm of her hand, smiling slowly. Let's see how far he'll go to keep from harming this body and the Real inside who's fighting back right now, but not fighting hard enough.]
no subject
His eyes flick to the fire in her hands, but that won't do much damage against him, not unless she has holy oil -- which he doubts.
He ducks down and tries to lunge toward her, arm shooting forward in hopes of getting a solid grip on her. That's all he needs.]
no subject
Sorry! Hurry! Knock her out, please.
no subject
The girl's mind is a jumble of the two fighting consciousnesses, but the Mirror is darkened and twisted, which makes it easy to pick out and disable.
As soon as Castiel manages that, he pulls away from her, eyes darting over her face as he tries to determine if it worked.]
no subject
[She would have protested to that amount of force, especially since it nearly broke her concentration on holding onto her body, but then she feels Mirror Lena grow quiet inside her and she gasps.]
She's-- She's gone. Or not gone, but it's just like you said: she's unconscious.
[An expression of relief spreads across her face. She knows her Mirror will be back soon enough and super pissed, but at least Lena has this moment to enjoy.]
Thank you. I'm sorry about before.
no subject
It's fine. [He shakes his head.] You weren't lying about the kind of power that she has.
[Which means that the Real must also have that power.] You're a witch, but not like those that I'm used to. What's your name?
no subject
I'm a Caster. My name's Lena. What's yours?
no subject
[He refrains from mentioning that he offered his name during his initial broadcast. Lena had likely been distracted at the time, considering what her Mirror has turned out to be like.]
How is a Caster different from a witch? That Mirror didn't require any ingredients for her spells. [So that's one obvious difference already.]
no subject
We're born with our powers. And we're not human. We don't like being called witches because there's a lot of stereotypes, like sacrificing animals or worshiping the Devil. We don't do any of that.
[She pushes herself up to her feet, wincing in pain.]
I should head outside. Maybe go into the hedge maze or something.
no subject
When Lena stands, Castiel takes another step back.] You think it would be safer out there?
[She would at least be separated from the rest of the mansion. Castiel doesn't plan to question it too much.] Did you need me to take you there?
no subject
[She rubs her shoulder a little where it connected with the wall and considers the offer. It would be easier to get through all the roots with this guy than to go it alone.]
Okay.
no subject
Brace yourself.
[And without another word, he steps up to her, setting her had on her shoulder and then flying them both out to the middle of the hedge maze.]
no subject
Once they're down in the maze and her feet touch the ground, she opens her eyes and looks around, glad for the seclusion.]
Thanks. It'll be easier to concentrate on holding her back out here. And sorry, about before. I hope you're not hurt.
[Though she's getting the impression that whatever he is, he can take it.]
no subject
When she expresses concern over any injuries, he glances down at himself and dusts off his coat in a few places, but for the most part he looks to be completely recovered.]
I'll be fine. If you need further help with the Mirror you can pray for me, if you feel comfortable doing so. If you use my name, it should come through more clearly.
[While he hasn't said he's an angel, he may as well have.]
no subject
Um, okay. You'd better go before this wears off and she comes back. She'll really want to lay into you.
no subject
He nods and takes his leave silently, the sound of feathers ruffling the only true sign of his departure.]
