May EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. Runs heavily on a "Bond" system where you basically just stick turboskates on your CR because characters are empathically linked.

The pace is pretty relaxed and I've had no trouble getting bites for an obscure muse like this one. As long as you can write a compelling application, it doesn't matter if your canon is super sparse like this one is.

Prisma is a sex-friendly (but not sex-required) sci-fi/fantasy game that has a very low AC (3-5 comments/month) and a lot of fun mechanics. Physical affection gives your character energy and money, but if that's not your character's bag, the Moonblessing system encourages it in some fun ways.
There is an overarching plot but it can be easily be played as an SoL game, which is how I've more or less been going about it.

Primarily a slice of life game but we have a lot of in game activity to keep us going: a meta plot and game plots, plus this is a memory/power loss game but your character can get both back so in addition to whatever you have going on in your character's mundane life, they have a lot of other things to juggle. The setting is modern Earth. We have a super easy AC, we're small and laid back and we are easy to build CR with. While everyone starts out human, non human characters are very welcome in this setting and have a way of getting their non-human bodies back.

Panfandom horror game set in a 1950s Maine dreamworld with creepy Stepford NPCs, a mystery surrounding a little girl named Sodder whose dream this might be, and a stable of different forms of horror. There's one event per month, and I've found a range of tagging speeds are present. AC is a little complicated to get used to with a points system, but there's a spreadsheet system provided that makes it all pretty easy once you figure it out. Super friendly OOC community who're willing to help, and ICly, characters seem eager to bring the newbies into plot-relevant situations.
Martin and Jon are from the beginning of 160 before spoilers things happen, just as a heads up, and we may be having a Sasha app this month. It would be amazing to have anyone, but especially a Tim to complete the S1 cast!

You find yourself standing on a wide station platform, in clothes not your own, holding a ticket with your name on it. Through the billowing steam, a train whistle sounds.
Voidtreckers is a game where characters are forcibly recruited as Voidtreckers, inter-dimensional heroes needed on world-saving missions across multiple planets. On arrival, your character is assigned apparently randomly to one of four teams, each with their own role on-world. Nobody knows why this happens or how they're picked, but they're stuck together whether they like it or not.
At least there's a cinema now.
AC is two proofs of 5 comments each per month, with the option of receiving bonuses for additional AC challenges that will allow your character to earn more currency points. It's medium-sized, very backtag-friendly, AU and CRAU are allowed and encouraged.
While most powers aren't nerfed, characters don't always arrive with their weapons, and exterior summons (such as from Materia) cannot be easily gained due to the train being a butt about not selling 'weapons'. :(
Apps are currently closed, but the Test Drive goes up on the 15th, with reserves opening on the 18th and apps on the 22nd.

Duplicity is a dark-themed smut game that deals with pulling out characters worst impulses and exploiting their flaws. There's no smut AC requirement, though.
It can seem pretty fast, especially around events, but I've found people working at all different paces here from boomerang tagging to one tag every couple of days. AC requirements are pretty lax with a max of 10 comments required. Events definitely run to the darker side of things, but there are almost always a lighter aspects. It's a lot of 'it is what you make of it,' whether that's more focused on horror or more focused on the sexy city side of things. Jon and Elias are from the end of Episode 160, Martin is from early S5, Tim is from the beginning of S2, and Agnes and Gerry are from their deaths! Would kill for a Sasha to complete the original Archives quartet, but would also do unspeakable things for a Daisy. Jon and Daisy's friendship is one of my favorite things in the show!

There are a lot of mysteries behind the setting including why so many random people are being pulled in. [game info]: Aefenglom is a fantasy game set in a steampunk-y Victorian era magitek type world called Geargadas where characters are brought through mirrors to help push back and find a cure for Cwyld, a corrupting magical sickness that's taken over most of the world. When they arrive, they become either a Witch (magic-user) or Monster (one of the options from the game's Bestiary), and the risks associated with each make it very encouraged for characters to form a Bond before too long in the setting, which is a way of balancing out their abilities and preventing Witches from magically overloading and Monsters from going feral. Besides that, the setting has a lot of flexibility, and between the monthly quests and events, it's easy to play a range of things from SOL to characters actively engaging in the pushing back of the Cwyld.
The next app round is in June and is a completely open round before the game moves to a game cap and queued apps system, but will only last 24 hours - more info can be found in this post under the State of the Game heading. May's Fourth Wall event can still be used to gather samples, but I'm also open to helping people put together samples outside of that if needed!

[game info]: You've eyed it before. Don't lie. That sci-fi planet that's in permanent retrowave 80's aesthetic. Smell the neon glow. Players can pick one of three moons that provide traits to their character, strongly or not. All up to you. Physical contact between player characters keeps the world turning and is the currency used. The game can optionally be NSFW if you so like, but gen is widely available too. Activity isn't high and has no smut requirements. In-game rewards for active players so you can play at your preferred speed.

[game info]: It's a sex game, but it's a lot about power dynamics and, for travelers, outside of all rules of space and time continuity, with no mission, which makes it a really interesting juxtaposition from "mission to save the world" to "nothing you do will change anything". AC is currently waived, but sex is not required as part of normal AC.
