February EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no banners, no blinking text, no obnoxious tables, no sparklies, no pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be frozen and/or deleted. FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL/1-on-1 ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL/1-on-1 section, where you post the canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be screened. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. it's got a check-in AC and is backtag friendly, it has an overarching plot and will end up with optional light/medium horror aspects. it also has some memory fuckery you can play around with!
the game's small right now, having just started this last month. it's in its first plot arc, which means it's somewhat pseudo-slice-of-life ("something's kind of fucky but we have to lay low and pretend it isn't until we can figure out what's going on and how to stop it" kind of slice of life), but in ~6 months it's gonna open up into an open-world sort of game with strong opportunities for more survival aspects.

The game's based around DA:I, and follows its same metaplot of Stopping Corypheus, Saving the World, and all that jazz. Characters can be AU'd into Thedas, or arrive from their original worlds through a rift.
AC is pretty easy to meet, and we're very backtag-friendly. There are regular missions and smaller, player-run events, so there's almost always something going on. Because we don't need to stick strictly to DA canon, there's always an opportunity for surprises, even when you're familiar with the games. For example, this past month we've been doing a modified version of the dark timeline quest from Redcliffe — but with tranquil Dorian.
Anyway!! Apps open on the first if you're interested, and we just had a test drive go up. Good luck finding a great-fitting game!

well, i love dragon age and i definitely love the look of fade rift! i actually had an au idea for one of my characters a while back before life got in the way, so maybe i can go back to that

anywho, lost carnival is about an interdimensional traveling carnival that people get yoinked into to go do circus things. It's pretty fantasy themed in the sense that the Ringmaster's a fairy so occasionally fairy shit happens—some of the setting changes are also fantasyish. It's slow-medium paced with an ac that's ten tags over two logs per month. The reason why I think Rue would be an interesting fit for the game is the longer characters are in-game, they gain physical and mental changes in response to faerie magic (like, bird wings or glowing eyes or weird stuff like that). and like, I know it's mean to shove poor Rue with weirdo fantasy changes but it'd be so fun also.

this game looks really cool! i love the circus/fairy aesthetic and monster-esque changes are totally up my alley. poor rue deserves none of it but i am terrible and would enjoy seeing what develops from that outside of canon

I have Diana here and would be game to do some slow-moving PSL things. Maybe pre-game stuff with Diana being terrible. Maybe an AU were they slowly become something like friends. Maybe a wildly AU type if AU where they're in a fairy tale world or something. Maybe terrible afterlife things in a world where Jennifer also meets a terrible fate, idk. Maybe they team up to take down the headmaster.

Here is our current ad with all the links you need. Basically you have a Wonderland-themed jamjar with player-submitted events every three-ish weeks. Events can span any genre (and definitely feature a good chunk of fantasy, horror, and AU), and the downtime is pretty much what you make of it. The events also feature memory loss to the tune of one word/phrase, but there are opportunities to (sometimes temporarily) lose more.
While there is an overarching game plot it's mostly on the light side. The drawback is that our activity check can be a bit daunting to look at - it's one open post and four threads, but that's for two months, which I'd say puts it in the middling category.
We'd be excited to see any of your characters (I know we have big Higurashi and Princess Tutu fans for sure), but - unsurprisingly - I'd especially love to see Wynne there. She'd currently be joining one Awakening-era Anders, Nathaniel Howe, a lovely Cousland Warden, some nerdy Garrett Hawke mage, and my own noodle Commander here.
