[There was an off Pokémon blinking into the camera before it was helpfully pulled back up— and the Applin itself scooped up but a larger/taller Pokémon with that sly playful smile in a playful way.]
Hello everyone! Once again, for those who do and don't know me, I am Clavell. I hope you all are having a pleasant day, even with these surprises I assume many have been gifted.
I do, of course, mean those eggs left in a basket and hatching! As most know, I am from a world where these wonderful creatures known as Pokémon exist, and am very happy to help those with questions about their new friends.
[Up popped his Rotomphone with a wide smile before flipping around, displaying the Pokédex app for all to see--]
A friend and I created a phone app some several months ago that you all may freely download that is filled with information about all sort of Pokémon from various regions; which you can download here- [There would be an attached download file for those who wished to download said Pokédex phone app.
And that was a warm smile from the older man--]
So once again, if you have any questions or need some sort of help? Please do not hesitate to contact me, or anyone else you may know to have helpful knowledge of Pokémon. I shall be at the park in Blossomcrown should some be near as well.
Good day.

[He's not so worried about it being nefarious, but he hasn't dismissed the possibility. It's just kind of hard to imagine something as sweet as the little one he'd ended up with turning out to be part of some sort of dastardly plot.
There's a small Gastly in the video with him that's busy trying to see who's (or rather, what Pokemon friends are) on the other side of the feed, which means getting into Jinwoo's space directly. He's giving the little ball a gentle poke on the cheek as if to say "too close" but not using any real force. He'll get to his questions about her in a minute!]

[Speaking calmly even as a large shadow suddenly came across him, and a rather large pokémon leaned there head into view, Clavell reaching up to rub underneath the Gyarados's chin idly.]
My own looking into it has come to the same mysterious conclusion, much as it had when a friend and I looked into the vending machine dispensing starters at the underground mall. No one really knows how, but so far its harmless.
That and the hatched pokémon appear healthy.
[-and what a curious Gastly that was. Cute.]

Jinwoo's expression shifts to one of surprise, and for just a brief moment he looks tense, but he relaxes as soon as he realizes the creature in the video means no harm. Of course. Just his reflexes kicking in.]
We have... monsters where I'm from, but they're all immensely hostile towards humans. So this is all a first for me. I don't mean to impose, but is there anything in particular I should know about raising one? And, is... that a Pokemon as well?
[It's kind of ferocious looking, and large besides.
Next to him Gastly first seems startled and ducks behind his shoulder, but then peeks out again and calls out to the other Pokemon curiously.]

A test of worth, if you will.
[That and in the old days, according to history- well. Things weren't always as peaceful as they managed to be these days back home.
Clavell nodded, Gyarados lowering down as its mouth closed- and even if intense, gazed still into the camera as he kept a hand on it. A low rumble of greeting.]
Other than the basics of grooming, feeding, and exercise? It differs from pokémon to pokémon, such as ways to keep them mentally stimulated much as you may a growing child. Also yes, this is a Pokémon as well, he is a pokémon known as Gyarados. I've had him since he was a Magikarp.
(Sorry, I forgot one bit!)
[He's pretty sure normal animals aren't made up of poisonous gas, but he isn't trying to imply anything nefarious or dangerous about them. He's just admittedly immensely curious. Friendly "monsters", it's a wild concept given where he comes from. But in a good way?]
I'll keep that in mind. I guess that means I'm sort of like your dad now, huh?
[He says with a calm smile. He'd warmed to her pretty quickly, though he didn't show it overtly. In answer she bumps against his temple again and then chirps out an excited "Ghastly!", now that she realizes the Gyrados on the other side is friendly.
For just a moment Jinwoo is clearly looking at something on his phone screen other than the video call. He's got the video minimized to one corner of the screen while he fiddles around with the app. It would be rude to ask questions he could maybe find the answer for on his own with this, since the doctor was good enough to put in the work to make it readily available.]
I see... so then, Pokemon evolve from other species entirely. We definitely don't have anything like this where I'm from. I mean, I guess butterflies and things like that, but that's different. It sounds like you come from a really fascinating place, sir.
[Tests of worth, Jinwoo will admit that sounds pretty cool, but it would probably be bothersome if you were trying to get from place to place and had random Pokemon stopping you to battle from time to time. He's got so many more questions, but he's pretty sure most of them aren't that important.]
(all is good!)
I may look into retrieving books from my world, here and there, when possible now that I think about it. [All the better to further help prevent any incidents simply due to misunderstandings- more so if pokémon kept appearing in this world.
Really, the incident when he arrived remained so very much there in Clavell's mind. Gyarados' temper when not knowing where its trainer was while being kept in a stable. A dangerous situation he was at least quick to cut-off by arriving there before anything but the individual stall being flattened. How calm the pokémon was now after adjusting.
Still, simply from observation there was a good match here.]
Some have various stages of evolution that we know of, while others have still yet to be seen to evolve at all. There is also one pokémon, known as an Eevee, that has several evolutions it can take naturally and with aid of specific items. It is quite the wonderful, even if at times mysterious, world filled with Pokémon.

[It does sound fascinating. He can't imagine there'd ever be a scenario where monsters were sent to HELP humanity, in his world, but it would have been a completely different story if they had. What kind of world would that look like? It's interesting to consider.]
Well, if you do happen to get any and you're ever willing to share, I think it would be a pretty good read.
