[ Having left Redgate on horseback with a promise to return when he can, John hadn't really had a plan. The war has become a hard thing to swallow, having seen the devastation the dragon had more or less accidentally done to the village. He'd given the funds Kaldur had sent to Alyosha, presented in front of all as a donation to help with restorations, and he hopes it helps. More than that, he hopes that being away from there makes it a bit safer.
If nothing else, the birds seem to have followed him, chirping and squawking all the way along the road to Daonna's fairy ring. His horse hadn't been particularly pleased about it, and it isn't too pleased now, either, in the camp John's made for the night. He's in the wilderness, close to the edge of Loch Noa, and it's sunset -- John isn't particularly sure whether or not he wants to see if the stories about a ghost girl and her dog are true, but he had to stop somewhere.
There are long strands of fur left on his shirt and he plucks them off. They appear white, but are actually transparent -- polar bear fur. A hint of blue can, likewise, be seen behind him. He's been collecting feathers, and using them. ]
Anyone else looking for the feather thief? If you're in the area, my camp's open.

one is a black cat with a cute little red scarf wrestling with doll. another is the same cat holding a... dead... bird... in its mouth and... looking smug. another the cat is sleeping in a pile with pabu, paws delicately tucked under it. the last is the mako-cat lying on his back and batting at bolin's fingers as the earthbender teases him.

Well, she's going to be a bit disappointed when she gets bigger and finds out they're not as filling.

oh. speak of the dragon, here she is now climbing up onto mako's shoulder with... a dead sparrow in her mouth, which she presses against the side of mako's face a few times. dad dad dad dad dad dad dad daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy i got you a thing daddy daddy daddy daddy dad dad dad dad dad it's a present dad dad dad dad aren't you proud. to mako's credit he doesn't look... too disgusted but he does reach up and delicately take the bird from doll's mouth, chastising her quietly in his own language. doll trills in reply, and sticks her nose into his hair just over his ear, whuffling quietly. she loves u daddy. she loves you soooo much now will you please cook this one for her pleaseeeeeeeeeeee? she saved it for herself. mako gives her a look because most of the communication between the two of them has to be via eye contact, and grumbles, easily tugging out most of the larger feathers. ]
You're so spoiled... As soon as you learn to breathe fire you're doing this for yourself, okay?

John can't help smiling as he watches, even with the dead bird pressed up against Mako's mouth. He's seen worse. ]
