[VIDEO] 9 April [SEELIE] A Call to Arms [OPEN]
[ The video is aimed largely past the speaker, to the twichting-writhing forms of three snake-like horned-creatures, the crackles of electricity still racing across their scales as they move. The locket is likely proper up on a rock or tree somewhere, as the speaker is turned to face the worms, his arms up and tattoos glowing electricity crackles from his hands. He is standing on land near a small river-stream near farmsteads. ]
Attention.
I am Kaldur’ahm, recently brought here with the rest of you. I was exploring the rivers and streams nearby and found that several had been blocked by these creatures, and that they were attacking the farms homesteads.
[ One of the worms seems to recover from the temporary paralysis, and lunges towards Kaldur, who leaps away and grasps two devices firmly in his hands. He jumps up again slams downwards on its tail with a water-formed spiked mace, inadvertently severing part of the tip from the worm. He bats the rest of the worm back further away and continues. ]
I am requesting assistance. Several of the civilians have been bitten, and are displaying signs of being in a critical condition due to the creature’s venom. I have been attempting to combat these worms for a few hours, and they grow more resistant to my electric paralyzation with each attempt I try.
[ The severed tail-end starts wriggling violently, and he forms a sledgehammer to knock it back several yards, closer to the still-paralyzed worms. ]
They are quick to regenerate from severed pieces, like echinoderms.
I need those who can help me combat these creatures and those who can help transport the injured to the castle, as well as individuals to help care for those injured by the worms.
{{ooc: The four first comments titled as "Alpha Squad", "Beta Squad", "Gamma Squad" and "Support Team" are for the 'action' part. (Where I will also attempt to GM as worms if people so desire). Feel free to answer the comm itself before immediately jumping into action, or to handwave being assigned to the team you are on and head straight for the action, as well as forming your own little threadlines!
They are more for organization purposes and keeping your squad-mates straight than anything else, and any number of threads can be started below the heading!
NOTE: IC'ly, the Squad assignations are happening on the spot.}}

ALPHA SQUAD
elincia; ota
With her sword at ready and her healing staves within reach, Elincia charges into battle, twisting out of the way of the worm's fangs and swings her sword, slicing through the worm's side and drawing blood. It screeches and Elincia is quick to retreat before it can strike at her again. Even in the heat of battle, Elincia makes sure to keep an eye out for the others who are also fighting, ready to aid them with a quick heal of her physic staff if it becomes necessary.]

She holds out her staff and gently presses it to Mako's chest and a soft blue glow envelops him]
Please hold still.
[She keeps a wary eye out on any worms but for now, they seem more interested in attacking the more obvious threat]
How are you feeling?

mako; planning & combat; ota
a; team huddle
mako snaps his fingers twice in rapid succession, to get the attention of the group that had, you know, actually listened to him when he called for a huddle, intent on at least getting a vague plan of action before they all tried to fight these giant gross ass worms. his tone is brisk and businesslike, gold eyes intense as he looks at those who agreed to meet. ]
Alright, listen up — I don't know who any of you are, or anything you can do, but before we do do this, we should have at least some sort of plan. I don't do well up close, but I can stun them lightningbending at first, and come in second with fire once other people have done damage.
What's everyone else got?
[ b; gunshot gunshot cash register noise
as he'd said during the huddle, mako keeps back when the worms approach, blue sparks arcing from his fingers in bolts of raw, coldblooded fire — lightning. it stuns them plenty, indicative in the way the worms reel, horned heads swaying as the light dies.
when they start to get close, he resorts to spinning kicks edged in bursts of fire, displaying an agility you wouldn't expect of a guy his height; backflips and frontflips, fireballs that have enough concussive force to at least halt an advancing worm's attack.
BACK UP WOULD BE GREAT, THOUGH, this is a lot of hard, physical work, and even though mako's fit, it's doing a number on his chi reserves, lightningbending continuously like that. ]
A
Still, being addressed so roughly is definitely somewhat strange]
I am adept with swords and I can heal. If anyone finds themselves injured or exhausted, they should come to me immediately.

Are you fast at it? I want you hanging back a bit more than the rest if you're our only healer, just in case.

He adds his own electricity to the fray, and forms a mace to punt the paralyzed worms farther back, as he gets close enough to Mako to avoid shouting across the fray of battle. ]
Mako, I believe your fire is having the strongest effect on the worms when applied to their wounds. Let us see if we can use it to combat the worms regenerative abilities.
I can cut through their tough hides, if you can direct fire to the wounds immediately after. A quick response will be key.
no subject
later, he'll have questions about how kal can do the water weapons AND the lightning, but... like i said. later.
there's more important things to do rn. ]
No problem — I'll follow your lead.
[ he readies a fistful of fire, to make the mental transition from lightning to flame, and nods to kaldur, indicating that, yeah, he's good to go. he took the alpha team leadership out of necessity, but he certainly didn't mind following someone else's lead, especially if the guy's as logical as this one. ]

Beleg Cúthalion; Open
[Before he left the castle, he'd made sure to stock up on arrows for his empty quiver, medicinal supplies and rations for travel. No sword, for he still can't bear to think of using one without thinking of Anglahachel and Turin. It was fortunate, Beleg thought, that he'd not traveled too far, having set off at a casual pace, wanting to explore at his leisure, when the call for arms came in.
When he arrived, there were already others fighting against the worms. Face stern, he found a semi-concealed spot and began to fire arrows at the worms, aiming for the eyes and open mouths.]
B; Emergency Healing
[Beleg would not consider himself a great healer, but he had some skill in the area. And it was good thing he'd brought along medical supplies when he first left the castle. If it was a minor injury, Beleg will release his patient back into the fight (if a fighter). If something major, then he will help with transporting you back to the castle.]
Please lie still while I work. It will then be easier on both you and I.
B
It only takes one slip up but it only takes one blow to her abdomen to pull her out of the battle. Wincing, she presses her hand to the slowly spreading red stain against her tunic and nods, forcing herself to keep still]
My apologies. I am not used to...this.
[She was far more used to being the healer and not the one in need of being healed. The injury wasn't too serious but if it wasn't treated, she knew it was only a matter of time before she became a hindrance rather than a help]
no subject
First to dress and clean the wound, then he'll see how well his healing would work on her.]

clarisse la rue; ota!
this is a pretty good fight, if she says so herself. nothing compared to the drakon — these things really are puny compared to the 200-foot ancient dragon beast — but it still gets her blood pumping and it's helping clear her head.
she roars at one of the worms, her sword held high, and rushes it without a second thought, very narrowly rolling out of the way of its head colliding with her shoulder. the first slice she makes into the fleshy length of the worm makes a satisfying sizzling sound. celestial bronze, motherfuckers.
unfortunately, the strike also causes the worm to shriek and clarisse winces, attempting to cover her ears, but too little too late. someone might wanna give her some backup here, as she's temporarily disoriented. ]

Are you alright?

derek hale | ota. ( between fights, etc. )
he stands a little away from the rest of the team when he emerges from the fray, wiping the gore from his hands and skin. there's disgust on his face, but his eyes are on the worms, from the people battling them. it's clear this is only a temporary respite, that he's not tapping out just because he's taking a minute to wipe his face off. ]

[ She says it as she stands up, and then quickly finds herself, crouching down again to pick up her fallen bow, clutching it in her hands. He's not an enemy, not anymore, but he's certainly not a friend, either. She's pretty sure he won't attack her, but then again, she's not sure he won't, either. ]
no subject
You aren't going to need that. Not for me.
[ because why beat around the bush? things are complicated with them. she's an argent, it will always be complicated and difficult, just like it was with chris. ]

It's a surprise to see someone fighting so well barehanded and if he had been dressed in a manner more familiar to her, she might have allowed herself to wonder if he were part Laguz.]
Excuse me...? Sir...?
[She trails off when she realises she doesn't know this man's name and no matter how you put it, "Sir Big Guy" was just plain rude.]
no subject
[ though it wouldn't be the first time someone called him "big guy," and it's not the worst thing he's been called by a long shot. but sir is weird, and derek shakes his head at it, brushes it off. ]
Do you need something?
[ it's not outright rude, but it's a little terse, derek's attention half on the battle he was just engaged in. ]
