mix bag meme
Sometimes we all want to play some angst and see just how far our characters and and will fall.
- Go to random.org and roll.
- Play!
1. just depressed.
Things are tough, you're feeling worn out, or whatever the case, you're depressed. You need help or someone else thinks you do anyway.
2. abandoned.
You were left behind by everyone you hold dear and now you're forced to see how well they've adjusted, how happy they all are while you're screaming inside.
3. sick.
Cold, flu, or something even worse, all you can do is lay back and let someone take care of you.
4. fight.
You've been fighting nonstop with the other person and it just keep escalating.
5. break up.
You're being broken up with and they won't reconsider... Damn.
6. separated.
For some reason, you've been separated from the other person for a long time.
7. kidnapped.
You've been held captive for how long now? Maybe they've been torturing you even, using your blood to write ransom notes, threatening to cut off fingers to send next, etc. Rescue is on the way though, right?
8. beaten up.
Just because someone didn't like you or maybe they wanted something you had, whatever the case is, you're coming home sporting some nasty wounds and bruises.
9. jealousy.
You just have this undeniable jealousy suddenly and you need to let it out.
10. cheated on.
This goes beyond just suspicion and you have full on proof of what your lover has done. How do you handle it?
11. apathetic.
You're not sad, you're not happy, you just... don't feel much anymore. The sparkle of life has gone right out of you and you're just going through the motions now.
12. addicted.
Drugs, alcohol, whatever your drug of choice is, you can't fight the draw and you can't draw yourself out of the hole, but the other person is going to try.
13. bad romance.
You know this isn't good for either of you, but you can't stop now.
14. fear.
Nightmares, the feeling someone is following you, etc. You can't shake the feeling.
15. insanity.
You're seeing things and hearing them, waking up only to realize you've done things you don't remember or you're in a place you weren't before. You're losing it and you don't know what to do.
16. guilt.
It's eating you up inside and you have to tell someone about it now. You want to be punished and you won't take no for an answer.
17. loss
You've lost something dear to you.
18. wild card.
Combine some options or make your own!
fluff scenario
1. Sick day. You're down with the flu or some injury. Whatever the reason, you're bedridden or at the hospital. Aren't you lucky that that special someone came to visit you?
2. Date night. You've made special plans to show that special someone just how much you love them and nothing can go wrong tonight.
3. Cheer up. One or both of you is feeling down and it's time to get out of that slump by either finding a way to distract yourself or talking it out with the other person.
4. Love confession. Your stomach is doing flip flops and your heart is racing, but you've read all the signs right, and it's time to let that other person know you feel the same way.
5. Special gift. Maybe it's the first time, or maybe this is the gift that really counts. Birthday, Christmas, or just a random present, you've been planning and saving up for this one and are hoping that special person will like it.
6. Last time (for awhile). One of you is going away for some reason (it can be as simple or angsty as you want it to be) and you may be back or you may not, but you want to spend the time you've got left where you are with someone special.
7. Pillow talk. You've just had fantastic sex (which playing out is optional!) and you're both content to lay back and enjoy a little bit of pillow talk or maybe go for round two as soon as you catch your breath!
8. Shared dessert. Whether it's because you're both cheap or you're one of those cute, lovey-dovey couples who love sharing desserts, the two of you are sharing that delicious ice cream sundae or cake with one another. Did some of it get on your partner's nose? Or maybe you want to go ahead and take a bite out of the cookie sticking out of their mouth.
9. Need a friend. You just want to hang out with the guys/girls and have a little fun.
10. I'm sorry. You had a fight with someone and now it's time to kiss and make up. . . or at least make up.
11. A moment at home. There's nothing better than enjoying a peaceful day without anything to worry about. Maybe you'll share a book with a friend, or just enjoy some tea and catch up.
12. Been so long. You're back after a long trip somewhere and now it's time to meet up with someone you've missed a lot and make up for lost time!
13. I'll defend you until the end. You're going to fight for that person and you're going to let them know it or show them, whichever comes first.
14. Pillow fight. You're both feeling the need to have some friendly horseplaying, and what better way than with pillows?
15. Wild card. Reroll, pick an option, or come up with something else.

2 + 6; Wow this is gonna suck
Even Bro's shades can't hide the storm brewing in his mind.
Bro has already weighed everything in his mind.] Hey Dirk. Need to talk to you for a second. It'll be quick since we don't really have time to not make it quick anyways.
[Bro doesn't let any emotion through. It's impossible to tell what he's even thinking.]

Yeah, what is it?

[He points to the circled location.] The cars can get filled up here and grab as much water and nonperishables as possible. Second problem, it'll take at least five minutes to actually do both of these. We don't really have that kind of time at the moment, now do we?
Also, give me your sword for a sec.
no subject
Hell no.
no subject
[Don't argue with him, Dirk.] Give me your sword, Dirk.

Let's be honest. We're barely scraping by with what we can salvage and we're starting to slow down trying to caravan everyone without losing someone.
Seeing as none of you kids have succumbed to anything, you have the higher chance of surviving this right now. I'm getting old, Dirk. I can only keep this up for so long and we need a distraction to give the group a chance to get the hell out of here.
I need your sword because you're taking mine.

We're lucky we got this far in one piece, but sacrifices need to eventually be made. There isn't going to be a show. You guys need to grab shit and haul ass out of here.

So when am I allowed to die? When we're all trapped without anything to work with and surrounded by the walking dead? People are eventually going to die, and we're not all going to make it. We're being way too damn optimistic if we think that's possible.

I'm not going to be lucky forever out there. The near hits have gotten more frequent. I scarcely made it through the last hoard without a bite on me. As confident as I am in my skill, I know when I'm hitting the end of my usefulness. A gun is going to get you guys farther. Putting ourselves straight into the fray isn't exactly smart tactics when it's easy to get infected from that distance.
Have everyone who knows how to shoot teach those who can't. Keep close hand weapons on everyone in case, but don't rely on them. It'll get you guys farther. Stock up on as much ammo as possible when you can.
[There's an edge in his voice. This was harder than he thought. Talking to Dirk about this. And maybe he's a little scared for himself. Just a little.] You're acting like I ain't gonna catch up to you in the next safe spot. Come on, kid. I just said we need a distraction to get everyone outta here. [He knows it's a shitty lie. They both know.]

His brother is running off to kill himself in a fruitless act of heroism, but he has a point. Dirk's grip on his sword hilt tightens for a moment, knuckles while and hand shaking.
He rips the sheathe from his side and tosses it at Bro's feet. He wants to be emotionless, he wants to feel nothing, but he can't. He just can't. ]

Everyone needs to be ready to move as quickly as possible. I'll give you guys plenty of time, but there isn't much time to fuck around.
[A short pause.] You ever get scared? Because I'm basically more terrified than a little kid trying to win against the closet monster.

So am I. As long as you can still feel scared, you got a chance. A guy who thinks he's fearless is just an idiot. Was hard not to consider the worst that could happen when you or Dave were in danger.
[He takes his hat off to drop on top of Dirk's head.] I should have spent more time with you guys.

Angst 8
He's always been too limited, too idiosyncratic, too small to survive something like this. He's never had AR's uncanny cognitive abilities or Sawtooth's unreal firepower; he doesn't even have Squarewave's clueless sturdiness under pressure. He is what he has always been: a gesture of sentimentality plated in metal and given a miniature sword to wave around.
He lies broken now, head dented and limb wires sparking and exposed, because even if zombies aren't interested in robots they've got no qualms about crushing anything that moves. One ear's been snapped clean off and his shades are cracked and dark.
Threadbare, care-worn plush is poking through the empty socket where his ear used to be.
He can't move, but he has enough power to open a new message window.]

[ There was someone missing from his robotic family. Square had checked in an hour ago, AR's heading south and Saw has the skies. The only one who hasn't reported in is Seb.
Normally, that would be because Jane would have him... but she doesn't. He checked. He ahs no idea where the rabbit could be. ]

[Someone's pressing the remote-activation button. Has been pressing it for a while in steadily more frantic intervals, until now they're just holding the button down. He can feel the alarm going off in his head, feel it more keenly than every warning about his wiring, his operating system, his CPU, his battery, because Jane needs him
and he can't go.
His insides whir in panicked overdrive but to his remaining auditory sensor, it's pathetic. Stuttering.]

[ Shit.
They're swarming outside and he can't do a thing right now. If he goes - no, when he goes - the weather may change. Seb might short out. He might not even have the supplies to repair him on hand - and he knows he's run low, between robotic limbs and repairs on everyone else. It could be months before they come across another stash like that. ]
Are your optical sensors working? Can you get me visual confirmation of the area you're in?
no subject
k
[Are they working? Seb turns his head a little--as much as the bent metal will let him, in his powerless state--and performs the robotic equivalent of squinting. He has partial vision: he can see shapes and lines and movement, but either his focus has been knocked out or connections from his camera to his brain are just not working well enough to process the visual information.
He tries for a moment to make sense of what he's seeing. A small shape nearby resolves into his missing ear. There's the box of medicine he was carrying, jostled but still intact. Moving shapes. Zombies, indifferent now that he's no longer running. Something swaying at the edge of sight. A building? The place where the others are.
He'd almost made it.
He takes a picture, lowest quality so it will transfer fastest, and sends it to Dirk.]
