002 [Video/Public]
[The screen flickers on to a boy wearing an amused grin.]
Everyone!
I've got good news! You're forgiven! The angel I summoned said so himself; God would definitely forgive you in a heartbeat because man's heart is weak, as is his mind, and we're all, uh, susceptible to the workings of the Evil One, and even as we wallow in our filth and sin, we -- You know what, forget God; I forgive you.
Seriously, no one could possibly blame you for what happened last week even if some of us were lucky enough to be scorpion magnets. Misery has it right - the important thing is to make sure that it doesn't happen again. If you all missed the announcements from the higher-ups, the people who were affected most severely were Scorpios. ...If you don't know what that means, in modern times on Earth - that's the 2000s - they were born when the Sun was in the sector of the sky dominated by the constellation Scorpio. This makes no sense if you were born outside Earth or in a time when we didn't go in for ridiculous things like pretending arbitrary sky-pictures meant anything about our lives, but the important thing is that the sun transitions into Scorpio beginning on October 23rd.
Guess what last week was.
The next sign is Sagittarius. The sun will shift into its sector on November 22nd.
So let's clear a few things out of the way - Everyone who was afraid, can you report in with your sign? Same thing if you were a scorpion magnet, though maybe that's more of a subjective thing. And everyone who's a Sagittarius, do you mind if we tie you to your beds from November, oh, 18th-ish to the 23rd? Your choices are (Yes/Of course/Definitely). If your name is Jun, (That's kinda kinky) works, too. If you don't know your sign, Sagittarius goes from late November into late December - so the end of a harvest season into winter in the Northern hemisphere, and the end of spring into summer in the South.
I'll keep track of the data. It's kinda my thing.
Oh -- this has nothing to do with anything, but I'm working in the computer labs of the university now. Drop by if you ever need anything fixed or if you just want to say hi.

[Worst best friend ever.]
Uh, I mean, yeah, that's probably not a good thing. Geez. ...Naoya was a Scorpio, though, right? That turned out OK...
no subject
Okay? Were you around for the whole thing, Atsuro? Naoya went around attacking everything like a lunatic. I'm not really looking forward to possibly jumping you and trying to rip your head off because I was born under a stupid constellation.
no subject
[He had not, specifically, seen Naoya in action, but he could probably guess what had happened.]
OK, we can figure something out before next month. We have to figure out the cause of this first before we can prevent anything - have you talked to him yet since then?
no subject
[Kazuya's been mostly hiding until now. All that negative emotion flying around everywhere from that fiasco left him feeling dizzy and overwhelmed during it]
I'll hunt him down later. He's probably in a bar somewhere drinking himself to oblivion.

[And trying to get answers out of him was as frustrating as trying to keep a slinky going down the steps]
But I will. I need to get him something for his birthday too.

[Grumble grumble lying to them for years grumble. Atsuro hasn't forgiven Naoya enough to be thinking of doing anything terribly altruistic - They hadn't even spoken again since the first day.]
.......Say hi for me.
no subject
[A pause]
Did you two have a fight or something?

Personally Kazuya was a bit irritated towards Naoya for the same thing at the beginning, but eventually ended up simply no longer caring. God was an asshole, and Kazuya did not want to be ruled over by an asshole who thinks He can decide humanity's fate simply because they don't do what He wants to do.
Is his perception influenced by the Bel powers residing in him? Yeah. Kazuya could feel the Bel demons he had absorbed howling for His blood, wishing to crush Him to oblivion, but Kazuya could separate himself far enough from that to dislike Him on his own.
Which brings him to why he sort of...forgave Naoya for using him. Ish. Kind of. Okay he didn't but he saw where he was coming from.]
Well, Naoya- erk, no. I can't excuse him. He was a dick but... considering what would've happened otherwise if he didn't do all that? The Ordeal was going to come one way or another.
no subject
He set all of that up to put you in a position where you could stand at his side when the end came. ...He cared about you, you know? That's why I knew I could trust him, at the end - at my end. He'd never turn his back on you.
Not on you.
[The emphasis is soft enough that the true meaning might be difficult to detect. Naoya had been all too happy to throw the rest of them away as long he had his brother - Atsuro, Yuzu, the rest of their friends... everyone in the lockdown.]
no subject
It left him feeling a bit, weird - guilty, almost. He knew that Atsuro had looked up to his cousin.
He also knew that nothing he said would really soften Naoya's betrayal any either, and he wasn't going to make excuses for his cousin's behaviour]
Yeah...
[It was rare when Kazuya felt unsure on what to say]
...I can give him a kick for you, if you want. To be honest, he kind of deserves it.
no subject
[When Atsuro glances back up into the camera, his usual smile is back in place.]
Hah, don't worry about it. You've got enough to deal with without listening to me complaining - it won't change any of what happened, either.
Naoya... knows what he's done.
no subject
[Kazuya's words are blunt, but he let's it drop with a sigh]
But okay. I'll talk to him about the whole Scorpio event, say hi, do some investigating, blah de blah blah. You can use that giant brain of yours to figure this out before it's my turn to go on a rampage.
no subject
...I mean, uh, the highly academic discussions of why Capricorns sleep later when Pluto is at the far end of its orbit.
[A brief pause.]
Seriously, though... Here's hoping it's not coming around every month.
no subject
[Kazuya tuts and shakes his head]
Well, anyway, enjoy reading the horoscopes, Atsuro. I'm gonna go deal with Naoya.

You will be challenged to a game by your cousin that involves catching him within a certain time limit while he randomly teleports around. Also he gets like eighteen turns to one of yours.
You will fail and he will laugh at you. Or you will succeed and he will still laugh at you anyway.'
no subject
Don't even joke about that. Don't say it on public network either - he might be listening in and actually take it seriously.
no subject
He's listening to us right now! And now he's adding two Berserkers with Endure to every team!
no subject
[THAT WAS TOO CRUEL...!!!]
Shut up! Stop giving him ideas!
no subject
[Atsuro signs off there.]
