My pain is caused by my pleasure And my soul mate lives in your body I can't get you out of my head It never goes away
( an au where stiles is a werewolf. can be because he was bitten by peter hale instead of scott, or possibly after he was offered the bite. maybe he was always a werewolf. )
[ Derek always found running through the woods was a good way to clear his, though generally that wasn't the same case when he was being chased by hunters.
He did well to avoid them, avoiding their shots in the dark and making his way over terrain they would have difficulty with, in or out of their vehicles. He quickly scaled a small cliff and made his way closer to the camping area that was none too far away. Being in the presence of people would drive them off, even if he liked people no more than he liked them. People, at the very least were easier to deal with, and after enough time he was certain they had given up the hunt for tonight so Derek started back, slow and cautious. ]
i dislike x'ing scott out, so. PETER BIT HIM AT THE END OF S1 blames peter
[ He was still getting used to this kind of thing.
Being hunted was no fun game, but he was smarter about this (he felt) than Scott. He hadn't used his new strength to beat lacrosse - instead staying on the bench, safe. He didn't think Allison knew yet, but Scott did, and Stiles had told him if he told anyone there would be hell to pay.
But, the getting used to. The campgrounds were mostly abandoned at this point, just a few hippies left over from whatever festival had passed through. It was easy enough to tell dad he was going to Scott's, then drive the Jeep out to the grounds and get out, experimenting with his senses. Trying to, anyway.
He already knew he had an anchor - his mom. At least, he thought so.
When Derek's scent tickled his nose, along with the faint scent of gunpowder, he weighed getting spooked and running away versus checking it out. In the end, his curiosity won, and he headed towards the direction that he'd smelled Derek.
He thought he was being quiet, when he spotted the other werewolf. ]
[ It didn't take much to pick up Stiles scent, or his breathing or heartbeat, regardless of how much Stiles tried to slow and steady it. It was still present and Derek turned his head to him when he was close enough. ]
[ And he knows he doesn't need to clarify more than that. They chased him out of his territory, and if there's any hunters still hanging around his house, he's going to chase them off. Unless they out number him again and by outnumber he means more than three to his one.
He breaths out heavy, still adjusting to the fact that Stiles is one of them now. ]
[ Derek watches him curiously, sensing the protective air around Stiles build and strain as he tries to heighten his senses.
Derek doesn't have to strain as much. He knows they've backed off for now, and if they are still in the woods, they're far enough away that Derek can't get a read on them. ]
[ When Derek speaks Stiles stops trying to hear so hard, relaxing back onto the ground and then looking over at the Alpha. ]
Well, yeah, that was kind of the point of coming here. It's not like I came to commune with the hippies.
[ Then, peering curiously at Derek (still getting used to being able to see in the dark - Peter Hale wasn't exactly helpful about this - he says, ] You offering to train?
[ Stiles looked at Derek, as if considering him deeply. Then, with a slow exhale, ]
You know I'm not Scott. Peter might have bit us both but I know this is both a gift and a death sentence. And you're the only one who's been willing to help us, so yeah, I'm willing to accept it.
[ The calm acceptance is... nice. At least Derek isn't giving him shit. ]
I - no, not yet. I think I'll be able to but I'm not sure. Every time I get angry I think of my m - anchor and that keeps me from going any farther. So I don't know.
[ Imagining his mother's pained face if he got angry, yeah, that's good for keeping him down. ]
I am loving this thread so far! Wolf Yoda, I will be!
You run and keep running even if you feel so exhausted that it hurts to breath. It only until you collapse that you'll start to feel things you couldn't before, hear things you couldn't, smell and taste everything you couldn't.
Do you think you could convince Scott to go with you?
[ It was the question Stiles should have been asking because Derek didn't know Scott half as well he would have liked, but perhaps that was his own fault. Either way, all three of them were stuck in this mess now, which meant they were family, whether they liked it or not. ]
And no, he can't but I'm not about to go chasing him down unless he does something to jeopardize us.
[ Derek took his eyes off of Stiles finally, to pace. He couldn't help but feel something was off, something other than the fact that Stiles was just a werewolf now. It was twisting in his gut and Derek didn't like it. ]
[ It was already a problem but at least he could count on Chris to follow the code to some degree. Unlike Kate, he at least played by the rules and so long as Stiles and Scott did nothing to agitate him further, they were in the clear.
Derek on the other hand pretty much found himself painted with a target and cross hairs. He stopped pacing when Stiles spoke a second time. ]
You're learning.
[ But it didn't lay waste to that unsettling feeling. ]
No, you look agitated. I'm just, you know, memorizing the particular smell I think is going with that. What's eating you?
[ It could, Stiles knew, easily just be the hunters he'd just run from. But not volunteering that as the reason meant maybe Derek would tell him if there was something else. ]
stiles is a bit werewolf, since when is up to you c:

Always blame peter!
What are you doing out here?
he's so convienient! (also work is evil)
Felt like rolling around in the dirt. I'm testing the new skills out, what else?
[ He scents Derek again without getting too close. ]
Why do you smell like gun discharge?
he really is! (and so it is sob)
[ And he knows he doesn't need to clarify more than that. They chased him out of his territory, and if there's any hunters still hanging around his house, he's going to chase them off. Unless they out number him again and by outnumber he means more than three to his one.

:<
Oh, well, that's just peachy keen, isn't it?
[ Stiles shifts, resting his knees on the ground. He's the picture of strain, straining to hear or smell something related to the Argents. ]
;n; <3
Derek doesn't have to strain as much. He knows they've backed off for now, and if they are still in the woods, they're far enough away that Derek can't get a read on them. ]
...Did you want to practice?
two hours till work. waargh

[ Then, peering curiously at Derek (still getting used to being able to see in the dark - Peter Hale wasn't exactly helpful about this - he says, ] You offering to train?
bloooarg!
If you're willing to accept it.
booo :<

this is the only thread i can tag right now ._.;;
[ He gives Stiles a nod. ]
Have you learned to control the shift yet?
dude i like this thread. BE MY WOLF YODA DEREKKK
I - no, not yet. I think I'll be able to but I'm not sure. Every time I get angry I think of my m - anchor and that keeps me from going any farther. So I don't know.

And you need to trust your body more if you want to heighten your senses.
hahajkvds
[ Then Stiles sighs, slumps forward. ]
Dude, I'm so used to my body kind of doing it's own thing and me fighting it, I don't even know how to start trusting it.
[ Aka, how did he start learning how to trust it. ]
B)
You run and keep running even if you feel so exhausted that it hurts to breath. It only until you collapse that you'll start to feel things you couldn't before, hear things you couldn't, smell and taste everything you couldn't.
no subject
[ Still, even as he slumps further towards the ground, he's not really arguing about it. ]
I doubt that's a good idea to do tonight, though, considering the hunters and... school tomorrow.

AHAHA WHOOPS
[ Or maybe Derek, but he doesn't ask him about that, yet, just looks over at the other. ]
sdghoGJLKS XD
[ It was the question Stiles should have been asking because Derek didn't know Scott half as well he would have liked, but perhaps that was his own fault. Either way, all three of them were stuck in this mess now, which meant they were family, whether they liked it or not. ]
shush
If I don't mention that you told me about it, maybe. But he also can't avoid you forever.
[ That Stiles wasn't avoiding Derek, was actually seeking him out, should be obvious in his tone. ]
neverrrrrr
And no, he can't but I'm not about to go chasing him down unless he does something to jeopardize us.
[ Derek took his eyes off of Stiles finally, to pace. He couldn't help but feel something was off, something other than the fact that Stiles was just a werewolf now. It was twisting in his gut and Derek didn't like it. ]
<3
[ It's not bitter but tired. As a werewolf he can see more clearly where Scott stumbles, though he wants to show Scott his mistakes, not cut him up.
He watched Derek pace, eyes flashing for a moment as the sound of leaves crunching hit his ears, then stood. ]
Okay, you look and smell agitated. I think.
<33
