Dear 20_00,

Thanks for telling us you can't log in with your Dreamwidth OpenID on LiveJournal. As other users have reported the same problem and we've confirmed it, our developers have been made aware of the issue. I can't tell you when the bug will be fixed but you can keep an eye on dw_dev and dw_maintenance for announcements.

My sincere apologies for the inconvenience. I'm sorry I can't suggest any workaround in the meantime.

Best,
90d

Hello!

I saw the answer of your colleague at: https://www.dreamwidth.org/support/see_request?id=35803#e93737.

How to understand the phrase "LiveJournal is no longer consistent about whether it is using a secure connection for OpenID logins, and is therefore in violation of the OpenID spec." ?

Authorization now works. However, security standards are violated, as I understand it. Maybe it's better not to use openID in LJ yet?

Can you, in this regard, communicate anything to the LJ's support team so that they can fix it on their side?

Because we (users) do not understand and are afraid :)

Спасибо!

Hi there!

The violation is caused by LiveJournal telling us to use HTTP in one place, and HTTPS in another. The two sections should be in agreement but they do not agree.

Our workaround for the problem is to use HTTPS for both. It should be safe to use!

Please let us know if you have more questions.

Best,
--Jen
