Hi there everyone, I'm Samara. Samara Raine Morgan, but most of my friends just call me Sam, Sammie, or, yes, boring old Samara. I'm twenty-two-years-old and I live in New York, in the dull and boring county of Rockland, about an hour or so up from Manhattan, about half an hour from the New Jersey border and in an all round public transportation annoyance zone. I reside in an apartment program due to illness and personal circumstances with a roommate whom I 1 percent stand, 2 percent tolerate and 97 percent loathe. What can I say. Math has its uses on occasion.

I am severely sight impaired: I read braille, use a screen reader, AKA speech software that reads what I type as well as the text on the screen and have a ton of totally fun and nifty little gadgets that help me perform everyday activities. I HAVE a sight impairment. My sight impairment does NOT HAVE me. It took me a long time to realize that, but now that I do, I find I can finally live in peace with my "disability", though I am not certain I believe in that word. I am just as able as anybody else. I mean, sure, I won't be applying for airforce duty or taxi driver anytime soon, but aside from that, there are very few limits and cons when you weigh them against the opurtunities and pros out there just waiting to be discovered.

My passions and obsessions include writing, horseback riding, acting, roleplaying, singing, reading, camping, hiking, swimming, rock climbing, ice skating, skiing, dancing, and a whole host of other activities and sports that can A, break a bone, B, kill you, and C, give those you love heart attacks. It's a knack of mine, knocking a few years off the lives of my loved ones at least once a month. *blinks around innocently*

I'm a proud valedictorian high school graduate, and I've attempted community college three times with little success, mainly due to equipment I needed that was not available at the time. You know what they say, however. Three strikes and you're out. I've striked out thrice, and now the Commission for the Blind and Visually Handicapped isn't helping me pay for school anymore...even though it was their fault. So I'm currently snagging all the free courses I can get my hands on. I've recently taken up an Introduction to Fiction course, so I'm hoping that can help me with my writing and my dedication to once more get back into the education scene. I'm not exactly the most motivated and/or diciplined person in the world. Not unless I really want something, and currently, I don't know what I want anymore.

My goal in life is to be a writer. I know it is a bit unrealistic to strive for that and only that, but hey, what can I say. I've always been single-minded. I DO have other interests, but Rockland County doesn't really offer many opurtunities for the sight impaired. I know they're out there...they're just not here.

But enough of serious matters.

Some of my favorite fandoms to write in include Lord of the Rings, Inheritance Cycle, The Ring, AU Harry Potter and currently, AU Twilight. I am also a huge fan of original works.

My favorite authors include J. R. R. Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, Lloyd Alexander, Christopher Paolini, Robin McKinley, Nora Roberts, Barbara Cartland, Alice Sebold, Phyllip Pullman, Mary Higgins Clark, Hans Christian Anderson, Hallianna Matthews and Nur Izzaahtul Diyanah, though she doesn't really go by that name on paper.
My favorite books include Lord of the Rings, The Inheritance Cycle, His Dark Materials, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Chronicles of Prydain, Rebellion, The Hero and the Crown, The Blue Sword, Whispers, The Lovely Bones, Till We Have Faces and many, many more.

Some Facts About Me

The people I cannot live without and whom I love more than life itself:

1. My family: Mom, Cheri, Jason, Anah, Rei, Christian, Yuri, Kat, Dimitri, Gaelan, Beiron, Adi, Marina, Artemas, Hector, Con and Linda.

2. The love of my life, Aurelius Ionnes.

3. My best friends: Chelsea, Laurel, Ani, Star, Jessie, Jill and again, Anah, Rei, Christian, Yuri, Kat, Aure, Gaelan, Beiron (though I want to kill him half the time and punch him the other 50% of it), Adi and Con.

What I Absolutely Cannot Live Without

1. My laptop (Oh, God, no! My whole world is in there!)

2. The internet (Aahh, mercy! That is my only connection to civilization!)

3. My family, friends, and of course, Aure, the love of my life.

4. My cellphone (Oh, Goddess, no! My baby sister needs me! If I lose that, she loses me and I lose my touch with non-civilized people who have no internet access! *dies from the horror of it all*.

I survive mainly on 99 cent Smart Pack TV dinners, cans of Pepsi, 3 hours of sleep a night and my computer. My current goal is to turn my less-than-attractive form into something resembling that of beautiful. For Aure's sake. I love him so much. *grins like an idiot and daydreams shamelessly*

Some of my favorite quotes, words of wisdom and poems are as follows:

"To the world you are just someone, but to someone you're the world."

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints.

We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less.
We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time.
We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.
We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.
We've learned how to make a living, but not a life.
We've added years to life, not life to years.
We've been all the way to the moon and back,
but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor.
We've conquered outer space, but not inner space.
We've done larger things, but not better things.
We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul.
We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice.
We write more, but learn less.
We plan more, but accomplish less.
We've learned to rush, but not to wait.
We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships.
These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes.
These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill.
It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom.

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.
Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.
Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.
Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all, mean it.
A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.
Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
~George Carlin~

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that’s best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o’er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear, their dwelling-place.
And on that cheek, and o’er that brow,
So soft, so calm, so eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

~Lord Byron~

I should really stop now before I get a PM from an admin telling me to take my autobiography over to fictionpress and stop abusing innocent profile pages. I will say this only in reference to any stories I might post here.

I try my very best to make them as well-written and interesting as they can be, but I'm not perfect. I thrive on constructive criticism, and relish the chance and opertunity to grow. When it comes to pairings, I do have a tendency to go the OC route, and keeping my OCs from Suedom isn't easy, so please, tell me if Mary's rearing her ugly head. All I ask is that you be kind about it, because I have no qualms about reporting flamers. I don't like fire when it's on my territory. Not unless I start it, and even then, it would never be to burn someone. So if you're a troll, take up your pots and pans, turn to the sun, and die. You'll be prettier as stone than you would be as losers. And better remembered at that.

However! Not to end on such a grim note, I love meeting new people, especially new authors, roleplayers and just all round kind-hearted souls. NEVER hesitate to PM, e-mail or IM me if you need a friend to talk to, a shoulder to cry on, or just someone to laugh with. You can reach me at
