Writing and Stuff

Since I can't talk to people to practice, as I've mentioned, I've been reading a lot in Japanese. Today, I finished my fifth volume of One Piece. Yes, I am (inexplicably) proud of this. It's strange to read it in another language and see what's different. I've also successfully read a whole 6 pages of the first Harry Potter book. Yay?

Anyway, the reason I'm posting this is because of something I thought was funny into todays HP reading. So (I don't remember if this is how it goes in English, but this is basically what the Japanese says) an old man in a violet cape runs straight in to Mr. Dursley as Mr. Dursley is leaving work. He looks Mr. Dursley up and down, seems to think for a moment, and then he gives Mr. Dursley a huge smile. In a squeaky voice, he says. "Master, I'm so sorry! Today, nothing can upset me! Banzai! "例のあの人" is no longer here! Even a muggle like you should be happy and celebrate on this felicitous day!"

So, any one has read the books knows that in the English those random characters would say "he who must not be named." Well, in Japanese they say "reino anohito." This translates literally to "the usual that person," or "the usual they" or "the usual person over there," or just "the usual person." This made me laugh. So, I thought I would share. :)
