riptide / ota!
Riptide, after having a... whale of a time recently, had decided to take the very adult route of dealing with his rapidly piling problems by immediately passing out on his bed and not moving for a few days when he and Megatron had managed to get back.
When he's woken up, he's almost not surprised to see that it's because there's something chewing on his foot. For a very baffling moment, his brain tells him it's Sideswipe. It takes a minute to process what he's looking at, but it's unmistakable this little thing is starting to work down the armour.
Several loud curses can be heard through the Nomo Deck halls as he kicks it off then stomps on it. The curses are eventually punctuated by clomping as Riptide - still carefully - tries to make his way down the hall, chore bot under his arm, and away from the damn scraplets.

He'd ducked out for a bit to see if there were any way of sneaking his sword back from wherever Tailgate's large cranky friend stashed it.
When he rounds a corner to come back... suddenly... there's Riptide. And a half dozen little bitey-looking things trying to chomp on his ankles.
"Dude, what happened?"
Re: a
The bigger bot does not hesitate to run past Sideswipe and grab him in his free arm, hooking it around Sideswipe's waist to try and lift him up and away from the scraplets. Even if there are only six of them.

Suddenly, he's hoisted up in the air, and being carried. His instant reaction is to grab onto Riptide in return, looping arms and legs around the bigger bot as best he can.
"--Scraplet??"
no subject
"They woke me up! Trying to eat my feet!"
Riptide sounds so offended, considering he was essentially asleep for over two days.
no subject
Especially since what he saw of them made them look less than threatening. He could probably hit them with a pipe and win. Now if only he actually had one, it'd be something.
"I'll cover you!"
no subject
"You gotta draw a line, somewhere! You gotta sit back, draw a line in the sand and make a statement! Look inside yourself and say "What am I willing to put up with today?" NOT! FRAGGING! THIS!"
He's a little upset about the whale thing.
no subject
The more Riptide yells and runs, the more he's sure he's actually heard of these things. Urban legends, but still. But running away probably won't fix the problem. And if they run... then isn't he just the reckless idiot people keep assuming he is?
"I can do this, big guy! Trust me!"
no subject
He skids around a corner, slowing down briefly.
"That sounded really weird but my point is shut up!"
no subject
As Riptide skids, Sideswipe does his best to wiggle free against the sudden change in direction.
"You're scared, I'm not! Come on, dude!"
no subject
"Fine. Fine! You wanna get eaten? Go. Go on!" he snaps, dropping Sideswipe and backing up. He won't run, because he knows he'll have to help.
no subject
"Okay. Go on. I'll cover you."
And yes, he is 100% unironically serious about that statement.
no subject
And really, he's annoyed but not enough to let Sideswipe get hurt.

closed to mr kenobi
he'd run up to the observation deck, figuring it might be an easy way out into space, easier to move around it. he was wrong, and now he's stuck backing into a corner while a small troupe of scraplets close in on them.
he holds his hands out.] Heeyyy... little creepy guys... you're not still hungry, are you...?
[of course he found the only ones capable of sadism.]
no subject
The first few scraplets are quickly disabled, slashed through with striking precision, each split into two molten edged halves. The rest, through careful application of the Force, are thrown back from Riptide's location as Obi-Wan lands a front flip into a defensive position in front of the robot. ]
That may not hold them long.
[ Which is to say, he'll cover Riptide's retreat if he's quick about it. ]
no subject
I... okay? Okay! That just happened! Did you cut that one in half? Oh my god!
[he's getting there.]
no subject
Any time you're ready, Riptide...
[ It's said flatly as Kenobi glances back over his shoulder. He doesn't think the scraplets present much of a threat to him, but they're certainly not going to spare attacking him if he continues to present himself as an obstacle to their prey. ]
no subject
[he leans down, holding out a hand for obi wan to get up on. that's what he meant, right? get them both outta dodge.]
no subject
Lightsaber in one hand, the other raised in expectation of needing another Force push, he is looking back over his shoulder at the robot with bafflement. What the hell, man? What. The. Hell. ]
I... think I can walk. Thank you.
[ Patience. Have patience, Obi-Wan. Remember your patience. ]
no subject
[standing up, riptide backs away a bit, watching obi wan.]
I'm living metal. They're gonna like me more, but I can run faster than they can.
no subject
[ A soft grunt as Kenobi steps in on one of the advancing machines and severs its connection with itself. It unfolds and Obi-Wan twirls his lightsaber. Two more shuffle up into the scraplet's place and Obi-Wan gives more ground. ]
—before I need that ride!
no subject
Aaannd... leave you? I'm a little uncomfortable doing that, I have to be honest.
[in addition to leaving a load of scraplets wandering around an area so close to space. riptide can't even draw his pistol - or, well, he could, but he doesn't want to risk it.]
You've thinned them out, I think we can finish them off!
no subject
As long as they don't bring some friends, that is.
[ At least he don't have to worry about deflecting blaster fire. Instead, he's focusing the right amount of energy to split the remaining offenders. Several are pushed aside while he advances on those closest to him. ]
no subject
[... anyway, riptide hisses at one that gets brave and stops on it, kicking the remains towards the others.]
Go on! Cannibalize! That's... ex-living metal, close enough!
no subject
and whether therapy in this case would entail careful applications of psychology or sweeping applications (haha) of programming instead. ]They're disorganized. As long as we remain organized, it shouldn't be an issue.
[ He gestures to a line of scraplets. ] Can you coax those this direction? Towards me. [ Let's work ~together~. ]
