[In the current move, Sasha has just accepted an oath of service from Jedao, a relationship Reshad believes is coercive. I'm not sure whether this properly counts as character rp or a new half-move, but I think we all need some new space to deal with the fallout!]
Sasha is waiting outside the antechamber. She has tied her scarf again, and looks as put-together as she ever does. "Are we having this conversation in my office?" she asks Reshad. "Or over tea, with everyone?"

Date: 2019-11-26 01:13 am (UTC)[Please feel free to fill in the details of the calisthenics routine for the GM, who is extremely out of shape and ignorant about Exercise 101. I assume Jedao would know how to stay fit for assassin-y things; I only know warm-ups for fencing, which is not quite the same.]
Re: [for whoever is monitoring Jedao]
Date: 2019-11-26 03:52 pm (UTC)Virmad arrives at the door, sewing kit in hand. “Grid, could you show me what Jedao’s doing inside?”
The grid obliges and Virmad spends a solid minute getting distracted watching Jedao do calisthenics. He finally manages to collect himself and — after a moment’s internal debate as to whether he should ring the door chime or just interrupt — decides with a sigh to use the door chime. You know what he’s like, anyway, he says to himself. It wouldn’t work. Still, though.
“Jedao,” he says, through the Grid, “it’s me, Rahal — Eshegen Virmad. I brought the sewing kit you asked for. May I come in?”
Re: [for whoever is monitoring Jedao]
Date: 2019-11-26 07:26 pm (UTC)Jedao switches to push-ups and says, without pausing, "Thank you, Virmad, feel free to come in."
Re: [for whoever is monitoring Jedao]
Date: 2019-11-27 06:18 pm (UTC)“Grid, could you please open the door?” Virmad asks. At least he didn’t stop, he thinks. I can enjoy the view, if nothing else. Once the door is a) extant and b) open, Virmad steps through.
Still, though. It’s one thing seeing Jedao at work through the Grid, and another seeing him in person.
“Sorry to interrupt,” Virmad says after a probably too-long moment. “I admire your, um, commitment to fitness. Most people in your situation would I think give themselves license to...not...” He trails off, both uncertain and distracted.
[note to self so I don't forget between now and next time I'm responding: I'm planning on having Virmad come right out and say "you know, I was — will be — whatever — at Candle Arc" (which I know this Jedao hasn't done yet, but).]
Re: [for whoever is monitoring Jedao]
Date: 2019-11-27 06:26 pm (UTC)[Jedao will be watching for Virmad's reaction to having his personal space encroached upon.
Meanwhile, SCIENTIFIC FOIL FOR ALL!]
Re: [for whoever is monitoring Jedao]
Date: 2019-11-30 10:25 pm (UTC)“Right, the sewing kit,” he says, offering it to Jedao. He hesitates, then adds, “I feel like we got off on the wrong foot, with the whole inquisitor thing. I’ve been waiting — ah, wanting to meet you for a while now. I was — or I will be — or I would have been? — whatever! — at...well,” he laughs, “a battle that I suppose won’t happen now, at least in this timeline. Under your command.”

Date: 2019-12-01 12:15 am (UTC)“Now that you mention it,” he says, “I probably shouldn’t say more. Or at least...” He considers. “I shouldn’t go into detail, anyway. You borrowed some calendrical lenses from the station where I was posted, and I was temporarily assigned to one of them. So I was only technically under your command, but...”
He trails off, gesturing vaguely. “In any case, it was...an interesting battle. You...intrigued me. I hoped I’d have a chance to meet you in person someday.” He smiles. “I admit I never would have expected it would be under these circumstances.”
Re: [for whoever is monitoring Jedao]
Date: 2019-12-01 05:20 pm (UTC)He smiles a tilted smile at Virmad, self-mocking. "In any case, you have your opportunity now. Do I meet your expectations?"
Re: [for whoever is monitoring Jedao]
Date: 2019-12-02 03:24 pm (UTC)“As for expectations...” Virmad considers. “I had some idea what — or who — to expect, but I must say, your reputation doesn’t do justice to your charm in person — or.” He pauses for a moment, then smiles. “Perhaps it does, but I had assumed it was an exaggeration. It’s extremely disarming — which,” he muses, “I suppose must be useful for someone with your skillset.”
[just throwing this out there but I wonder if there's a timeline where Virmad is Jedao's magistrate ex.]
paging Reshad and Sasha, or anyone else willing to help
Date: 2019-12-02 09:36 pm (UTC)Re: paging Reshad and Sasha, or anyone else willing to help
Date: 2019-12-02 10:55 pm (UTC)a more plausible thought I had was that conceivably Virmad knew/knows Jedao's Rahal ex, presumably after they dated — but I feel like at this point in the conversation it's probably too late for Virmad to mention that that's how he got a firsthand account of Jedao's charm.]

Date: 2019-12-06 08:08 pm (UTC)"Are you a ruse?" Jedao counters. "Or perhaps a test of some kind?" His smile flashes at Virmad: tilted, and a little challenging. "I have to say, personal charm is irrelevant to a sniper, although it does help to have willing soldiers when one is commanding troops."
