002 ▲ video
[This video starts off with a very annoyed Luke peering at the screen. He's got his hair up in a very fluffy ponytail this time, but there's nothing interesting behind him this time. A television can be heard in the background though, mingled with the ever-present background music.]
Whoever sent me the blob, you could've mentioned it can turn itself into other stuff! It turned into my PokéGear and I didn't notice until I had been talking to it for a while.
[Only about five minutes, but still.]
It's blue...but when I tried to see what it is, the picture that came up was pink. Is it sick or anything?
[He moves the camera to show a said blob--a shiny Ditto, sitting placidly on the floor. A Vulpix and a Growlithe can be seen wrestling in the background, periodically emitting angry yips.]
See? Blue.
[The video ends there, as he goes to break up the fighting 'mons.]

So this reaction is going to seem very delayed, but the level of impact is likely still the same.]
...Luke fon Fabre?
[He chokes that out, legitimately shocked. Seriously, what the hell is this? He goes without seeing anyone from home for nearly two years and suddenly Luke reappears?]
He's startled at hearing his full name over the 'Gear--he didn't recall introducing himself as more than 'Luke' to anyone--and more surprised to see who it is.
And also sort of more annoyed.]
Who.....Dist?
[He doesn't even know what to say really, because he's so thrown off by this development. Well, may as well start with the most basic questions. Even if it's someone from home he's not incredibly thrilled to see, it's someone at least. And judging from the lack of Important Haircut, it helps him narrow down where in the line of events he might have experienced so far.]
Did you arrive recently? Is...anyone else with you?
[Videos? He's not sure if that's what they are--he's still getting used to the technology around here. Guy would probably like it.]
I mean, I arrived here by myself, but I haven't seen anyone I know, aside from you. When did you get here?
Before you dare to challenge me for what I'm about to say, don't. This world works on a strange timeline.
That said, I arrived here about two and a half years ago.
[He'll be giving the camera a stern stare as if he's silently repeating the order to not question it.]
The years are shorter here by the way. By nearly half the days of Auldrant's.
[He's not sure if Luke remembers his time here to recall that, but he's not going to hint at it on purpose to avoid causing any unnecessary confusion.]
Two ye--
[Okay no, shutting up again, even though he swears he saw Dist less than a month ago. Weird timeline, whatever.]
Okay, a year here is shorter than a year back home, so...around 400 days? Are the months shorter as well? I know a week's the same, but the names of the days are different...
[Sorry Dist, he may not like you but you're familiar enough for him to ask a bunch of questions.]
But no, he always enjoys being a walking info bank- it makes him look smart, or something. Not that isn't a genius or anything.]
365 days, to be completely exact. And yes, the months are halved as well. They alternate between 30 and 31 days, with February being the exception at 28 days.
It is quite a lot to remember, and believe me, it was just as tedious for me to get adjusted to when I arrived.
[...]
And I assume you've already noticed the severe lack of fonons here? You won't be using artes anytime soon.
Gah, seriously? I have to learn a whole new calendar? That's annoying.
[More importantly, when is he supposed to celebrate his birthday?]
...Yeah, I noticed. I don't like it, it makes me feel weaker.
[Not significantly, but he does feel like something is noticeably missing.]
Yes, you do. And as I said, it's very tedious. Good luck to you!
[...his helpfulness only goes so far, apparently.]
You feel weaker because you no longer possess the ability to manipulate fonons as they are not present in this world, at all. You will have to rely on your Pokemon as your offense and defense.
Gee, thanks.
[That is a lot of sarcasm in those two words.
Also he wasn't the best at manipulating fonons before he arrived in Johto anyway, but he's not saying that to Dist.]
Okay. So...are we not allowed weapons here besides the Pokémon?
[Right back at ya.]
That's right- weapons of any kind are generally frowned upon here. No more relying on that sword to swing around like a barbarian. You'll have to learn to command your Pokemon effectively to do what you desire them to.
[Of course he's developing weapons anyway but you know...Rockets...]

[Huff.]
I'll train 'em, if I have to.
[video] I'm so sorry this is late!
Whoever said I couldn't fight for myself?
[Well, his own track record isn't making a very good case for himself is it?]
I simply choose to send my beautiful robots into battle! Ah, when I had them, anyway. Now I have my beautiful Pokemon instead.
Regardless, you'd best do that. You wouldn't want every amateur trainer completely trouncing you in battle, would you?
