Second case!
Wright Anything Agency: Now in 3D!!
"A lot's happened since then." Are we going to mention that Trucy is your sister, Apollo? No?
Ahhh, I see, "Japanese immigrants." *wink*
Magic Panties sprite! I look forward to seeing all the creative uses of this sprite sure to come.
New challenge: scenario involving the Magic Panties sprite and the bent-over Edgeworth sprite from AAI, GO!
Ooh, check out that Turnabout Countdown image on the episode select screen. Sexy 34-year-old Phoenix workin' that three piece suit.
"I think she's sweet in own her special way." Are they doing this just to fuck with me now?
Haha, the warding charm on Apollo's face flutters when he talks!
Oh, a Notes section! All the series' gameplay problems are really getting knocked out here!
Oooh, Athena is sooooo spunky!! Barf. But if Apollo getting repeatedly injured in increasingly unlikely ways becomes a recurring theme in this game, I'll let it slide.
AA-verse Print Journalism: Alive and Oddly Robust in 2026.
Oh, I get it, Athena just knows a bunch of phrases in different languages. Or maybe they're setting her up to be a polyglot.
The caretaker is named Filch?
Fulbright has peaked lapels, 3:2 odds he's guilty. Damian Tenma also has peaked lapels, but he's the defendant so he's not guilty.
So what's Apollo's weakness? His hair?
Man, I sure hope Fulbright is the bad guy, because the alternative is that he's going to be plaguing me for the rest of the game. WHERE IS EMA. I DEMAND EMA. WHERE IS GUMSHOE, FOR THAT MATTER.
Uh, okay, so is "this dark age of the law" the jurist system, and will Simon Blackquill turn out to be Kristoph Gavin? Or are we just pretending that 4-4 didn't happen? Maybe the jurist system was rejected? MAYBE THIS GAME WILL DECIDE ITS FATE???
Man, I am getting impatient with this case. This game had better step it up pronto.
"I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried." Writers, put up or shut up. Don't compliment yourselves yet.
"L'Belle" is driving me nuts. I don't speak French, but I don't think it works like that.
It's so weird that L'Belle (ugh) doesn't have peaked lapels (wait, I think I just spotted the secondary name pun), because that suit really should, and anyway, he's a gender-nonconforming asshole and therefore almost certainly the killer. The notched lapels look so wrong with those shoulders and are such an odd choice for a double-breasted jacket, especially one of that color. I don't understand why they would do that.
Yay, the Perceive mechanic! And they used the AJ music!
Hm, well, that was a pretty easy investigation segment. Maybe it was just a warm-up, since it was the first one in the game.
Ooh, Phoenix conversation sprite. I can't stay mad at this game when Phoenix is around.
Ah! Phoenix's AJ clothes!
"That suit makes him look like a million dollars." RIGHT, APOLLO?
1. The voice acting in this Blackquill introduction cutscene is atrocious. 2. If convicted felons can prosecute, what about Manfred von Karma?
I approve of Blackquill's design and music.
"I wish trials came with a reset button." sooo metaaaaa
You know, in a world where spirit channeling is all too real, is demon possession really so farfetched? Let's not forget that this is apparently the same world that Ghost Trick takes place in, too, so spirit object possession and blue-skinned alienoids are also facts of everyday life.
"But does being a former pro wrestler make him superhuman?" DUDE. WHAT DID I JUST SAY? Supernatural stuff is not out of the question here.
Yeah, see, Athena knows what's up! She thinks it could have been a demon too!
I just realized that I require Fulbright/Blackquill slash immediately.
"You know, I think people would actually pay to see that. I know I would." See? Apollo agrees with me.
Oh my god, Taka is ADORABLE.
Hey, what'd I tell you? Demon possession: canon.
"Then prove it by joining me." Oh my god, Blackquill! "A night in the clink will ensure you will not succumb to temptation!" One kind of temptation, anyway! Eh? Eh?
FULBRIGHT/BLACKQUILL OTP! FULBRIGHT/BLACKQUILL OTP!
"The worst of times are when lawyers have to force their biggest smiles." Awwww, Phoenix!
HOLY CRAP. PHOENIX HAS BEEN GOING TO EUROPE TO STUDY THE LEGAL SYSTEMS. In other news, Edgeworth's ass has been renamed "the legal systems."
"Bluffing is obviously not her strength." Athena'd better work on that if she's going to work for the Wright Anything Agency!
L'Belle designed Mayor Tenma's suit, huh? New theory: L'Belle gave Tenma peaked lapels to make him seem more suspicious, and himself notched lapels to seem less.
Oh my gosh, Mayor Tenma is The Amazing Nine-Tails! This is starting to get juicy! Also, nice abs, Mayor Tenma!
This look inside Apollo's brain is super gimmicky, but I'm enjoying it anyway. It reminds me of my thought process when I figured the hair-in-the-mask thing out.
Wait a minute, I just realized...wasn't the white hair found caught in the window? Isn't this a contradiction? Oh well, apparently not.
Uh...apparently L'Belle is younger than he looks.
Oh, I'd forgotten that Phoenix was watching the trial! He must have heard it when the judge compared Apollo to him!
Aww, the closing animation. Nice abs, Mayor Tenma!
