The only abnormality is the incapacity to love. - Anais Nin

You must be the change you wish to see in the world. - Gandhi

Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, except backwards and in high heels. - Bob Thaves

I must learn to love the fool in me - the one who feels too much, talks to much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates, hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laught and cries. It alone protects me against that utterly self-controlled masterful tyrant whom I also harbor and who would rob me of human aliveness, humility, and dignity but for my fool. - Theodore Isaac Rubin

Save The World - One Click At A Time!

On each of these websites, you can click a button to support the cause -- each click creates funding, and costs you nothing! I lock about half to three-quarters of my posts based on specific but unrevealable criteria! ('Cause if I revealed it, then there'd me no point in locking it now would there?!) Feel free to read the public posts and if you suffer from burning curiosity then comment anywhere and I may add you, but please don't be hurt if I don't, I read a whole load of journals and am rapidly running out of time.

I'm a scary fanfic geek.

I'm a wife (to Henry) and a mother (to Sprog, female child, age 8). I have a useless degree, and a job as a minion of our Capitalist Overlords. And two cats. And an awful lot of books and about ten times more fanfic files. Scary. Fanfic. Geek.

For people I've friended recently - HI! if you're reading this to find out who the heck I am and why I friended you - erm, I felt like it! I friend people based on other people's lj's referencing you, or if you write fics I read, or if . . . well, basically if you catch my attention for some reason or other and then when I look at your journal again I'm still nodding/smiling/interested, whatever, I friend you. I never ever expect people to friend me back (I have about three times the amount of people on my friends list as have friended me), I may never comment in your journal, I'm essentially a lurker/voyeur (depending on how you look at it). Ignore me if you wish!

My current, rather lovely, due South moodtheme was made by cranberryink.

I am also a complete icon!whore. I don't make, not really, I just use. One of the links down the (currently) left-hand side of my page goes to all my current icons with credits for makers in the names. The cryptic notation 'jl' indicates the work of jacklemmon/delectableoomph who introduced me to the whole concept of icons. The (possibly) even more cryptic notation ?me means I made the icon but I have little or no idea where I got the image from! The totally non-cryptic notation 'karenbear' indicates that the icon is one of about 3 million which karenbear so wonderfully makes. She's my ICON GODDESS because she puts up with me asking, totally out of the blue, for practically anything in the way of an icon and always seems to produce it better than I could have imagined. ::hugs Karen::

For my own reference, these are the Chalet School books I'm missing.

I did a poll and asked for a word/phrase for me, the results are listed below (italics are my comments):
kimberlyfdr -- Interesting
karenbear -- The Woman of the Unpronouncable Username -- I know! I just like to be irritating!
obsessedmuch -- clever
scrunchy -- sassy
moosesal -- generous
dine -- cunning -- Like a fox!
moonlettuce -- Goddess -- ::blinks::
menomegirl -- Refreshing
miniera -- radiant -- I wasn't even radiant when I was pregnant!
profshallowness -- enthusiasm
trulybloom -- As unique and interesting as the vegetable in her (usual) icon.
rom969 -- bored -- correct! that's why I put the poll together in the first place
llaras -- fun!
ladycat777 -- funny
romanticalgirl -- persnickety -- ::nods:: oh yeah!

This is (roughly) where I live:

but this is where I want to live:

I like seeing all my Livejournal friends' locations plotted on this map - please add your location starting with this form.
Username:
(Then get your friends to!)

A useful tool if you want to know who's friended and unfriended you is here.

I have back-up journals over at InsaneJournal and at JournalFen under the name 'ngaio' because I get panic attacks when LJ disappears! If you've a journal over there, go friend me, please (if you have me friended already I mean)!

I have a Private First Post thingy, for just in case, just in case of what I'm not sure, but there it is.
